CTFM Food Bank in Association with Food Bank Victoria and Second Bite
In March 2014, Catch the Fire Ministries began serving the community by providing a foodbank.
The food is packaged in crates or bags and contains dry foods, vegetables, dairy foods, frozen foods and items such as quiches. Normally, one crate is provided per family.
Recipients must bring photo ID such as a Centrelink card and fill out our registration form to register. Our normal operating hours are from 10am-2pm on Thursdays by an appointment made with Elizabeth or Barb by ringing 9703 1620. Depending on the level of need, recipients may come weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
The usual area we serve is those residing in the suburbs of Hallam, Hampton Park, Cranbourne or Berwick. The food is to be picked up from our church premises at 30 Star Crescent, Hallam.
Catch the Fire Ministries receives food from Food Bank Victoria and Second Bite.
Jesus taught us to care for the poor and needy with His love in Matthew’s gospel chapter 25.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was ill and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”
