The Melbourne East Police Station in Victoria received more than 200 calls from concerned Christians across the nation who voiced their opposition to these highly offensive t-shirts which blaspheme the Holy Name of Jesus!

The Acting Senior Sergeant at the Melbourne East Police Station stated that they have initiated a course of action to stop the t-shirts from being displayed at the shop or anywhere in public, and have requested that we do not call the station further unless we see the t-shirts displayed in the shop or worn in a public place!

Our most grateful appreciation and thanksgiving goes to the Lord for the many fathers and mothers in the Faith who have gone to be with Him, who have seeded in prayer and travail, and would have loved to have seen what’s being experienced right now in Melbourne!  It is certain that their faithful sowing (in tears) into the heavens for these many prior years has definitely built toward the beginnings of this glorious revival awakening and end-time harvest in the 21st century. Their prayers, added to the fervent hearts of the now generation, has caused heaven’s bowl of incense to be very full and God is pouring from heaven to earth this stream of living water where He may be present, meeting with the hungry surrendered hearts of his people who carry this urgency in their spirits. Does this sound like you?

Yes, we have heard of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Toronto, in Pensacola, other cities and nations around the world, and now in Florida, USA, but we here (at Catch The Fire) in Australia have waited patiently in prayer for the past 7 ½ years for our nation, to say nothing of those who have cried out alongside of us during this time! All glory to God, it is finally happening! All of us at Catch The Fire continue to thank God with all our hearts!

We are quite blessed to see many pastors coming for the revival meetings and promoting the gatherings in their local churches. All who come genuinely to receive from the Lord have gone back to their local churches powerfully impacted by God’s presence and they continue to come for more of His fire and glory.  We know that work and market places are beginning to be infiltrated by God’s rich impartation. The testimonies astound! Some from interstate and country Victoria are driving 4-5 hours to get to the meetings, causing the local motel to be fully booked.  Pastor Danny has been praying over pastors and all those travelling distances across Victoria and from interstate to Catch the Fire of the Holy Ghost! All are hungry and on fire for God, so their own areas are becoming spot fires – Revival will spread across Australia!

Many who come are so ‘soaked’ in God’s presence during worship that they find it difficult to walk, some ‘glued’ to the floor for long periods of time. One 21 year old young woman was so inebriated with the Spirit that she was ‘stuck’ to the floor past midnight. Three friends had to help her up and then assist her into the car. She shared of her awareness of the lateness of the time but her inability to move as the anointing she was under was so strong. God was literally pressing her to stay with Him in communion as He healed and restored her.

This same girl had a rash on her body for 7 years.  After Pastor Danny prayed over her (within the next 72 hours) her rash totally disappeared.  Read her full testimony under comments below on this article.

Another woman came up for prayer and stood in proxy for her relative in Sri Lanka who was rushed to hospital in a coma with a brain aneurism. The doctors operated on him for 12 hours unsuccessfully, but as he was prayed for in the name of Jesus, the power of God touched him in Sri Lanka and he made an amazing recovery! He came out of the coma the next day and started to talk normally. Needless to say, the doctors are shocked, as they said, “Even if he came out of his coma his speech should be very badly affected, so it is simply amazing to us that his speech is back to normal.” What a mighty God we serve…

Yesterday Pastor Danny, hearing from the Lord, called to the altar those suffering with depression, as God was longing to release them from this prison of darkness. One woman who came up for prayer started manifesting with demonic activity, and the rest was history! The freedom she received from meeting with the Lord was swift and lasting! She was 46 years old and had as many anti-Christ spirits inside her which were making life miserable and set on destroying her abundant life. From birth every year an opposing spirit had entered her body, but yesterday she rejoiced greatly (beaming and full of joy) in her newfound freedom.  She said, “I’m free, I’m free! I feel clean like a new born baby.” Her husband joyfully joined her on stage to thank God for her freedom as the last years had been quite difficult.  Her pastor was also extremely pleased for her, as he too was present to see her come into liberty from such bondage. She also had severe pain in her elbow and had to wear an arm brace. Her arm was healed – no more pain.  When she realized what had happened, started shouting, “Oh my God, oh my God, my hand is healed!”  She soon removed her braces, not needing them anymore.

Again last night, many more deaf ears opened up as they were commanded to open up in Jesus Name! Others were healed from various sicknesses, with an elderly lady who had severe knee problems (very difficult to bend her knee) was healed in Jesus name. She not only bent her knee but she also started running at the altar shouting, “I’ve got no pain, no pain.”  We could continue on with many more testimonies of God’s power, healing, delivering and restoration, but instead would like to encourage you to attend and experience God’s presence and power for yourself. You will be mightily blessed. An email received today from someone who attended last night…”My husband and I were at last night’s meeting, it was beautiful! Bless you, Bev.”

Pastor Danny said, “I challenge everyone to come and receive impartation from the Lord God of Israel. Do not miss this time of Holy Spirit impartation, as this is a now time and not to be passed by. We as a team are absolutely determined to keep the river of God’s love, power and provision flowing as long as the Lord leads us to do so. I have spent hours in prayer and fasting, with many tears, for our nation - to see this day dawn. It has come!! We are not going to relinquish this revival life-force. Won’t you come and ‘swim with the wave’ into His full glory? Don’t stand at the banks of the river and be a spectator, come jump in the deepest part of the river with Him. Become an effective, on-fire, market place, active Christian and God will imbibe you with His passion for souls, His heart for the lonely, His cry for His damaged kids, His compassion for those in darkness and balancing on the edge of the pit of hell. Our time is now… the call goes out!”

What a mighty God we serve! The revival meetings are into the 3rd week and people are beginning to travel from distant places to soak in His presence. We constantly give all glory to the Lord as those coming are receiving most powerfully from the Lord. Night after night the presence of God has been increasing as people stay and soak in His presence for hours at the altar.

Some said, “We’ve been use to only 15 minutes for worship, but now we worship God for hours and it seems not enough.” What an amazing statement, but then through worship (being in the presence of God) people have encountered healing and lives have been radically changed in the past 18 days.

Hungry souls continue to be healed, delivered and set free with many lives being surrendered to Jesus for the very first time. In the last 3 days, 2 ladies suffering with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) have been healed by the power of God. Both could hardly walk, but as God touched them they began to run – so exciting to witness as God reveals His power to heal.

Many more deaf people received their hearing! Every one clapped and rejoiced when one man in particular who was deaf for many years (in both ears) received his healing. The neighbour who brought this man (who also needed a healing touch) got so excited and started shouting because her friend received healing, that she forgot why she came to the altar! Her friend leaned over and whispered to Pastor Danny, “She needs healing from Asthma.” It was her turn to shout with joy and thanksgiving for her healing when she received mightily from the Lord.

Two other ladies suffering with ‘Chronic Fatigue Disorder’ for years were both brought to the altar, helped by family members. God healed both instantly and they started running all over the place.

Another woman was brought to the altar and placed on a chair as she could not stand for long due to a condition where her legs were so weak, with accompanying ongoing pain all over her body. When Pastor Danny prayed over her she arose from the chair and the rest is history. It wasn’t long before she started running and then literally leapt off the stage, as God’s goodness touched and healed her completely.

Many others were delivered from demonic activity. The demons leave resisting, but must go. One lady who got set free was set apart as a priestess in a coven, or possibly better known as a ‘blood line Satanist’.

We are so encouraged to see so many young people and children coming night after night to drink from the refreshing river from the Lord. It is amazing how many young people who have been suicidal or have attempted suicide several times, have been set free in the name of Jesus from every demonic affliction. Almost every night there are similar testimonies of how they come out of darkness, depression and death to life, freedom and liberty. Free to live at last!

Pastor Danny said, “Our desire is to serve and assist the local church to arise into its God-given destiny and have the Body of Christ empowered by the power of God, so that they can release His love and fire in their community and reach the lost into the Kingdom of God’.

It does seem however, rather than being part of what God is doing in Australia (and rejoicing that it is happening at last) some pastors seem troubled that Pastor Danny may be inclined to start a church and they will be affected, so have decided not to promote the meetings. This is unfortunate and unfounded. Let me reiterate this very clearly, Pastor Danny has been called by the Lord but definately has no plans to start a church.

We welcome local pastors to the revival meetings to come genuinely to drink from this wonderful refreshing river of the Lord, and to be empowered as their people are, to go back to their churches revived, encouraged and full of fire to see the Kingdom work escalate and gather many from the harvest God has prepared.

Here at Catch The Fire we love this nation of Australia and it is my belief that each of us (no matter what position we may hold in accountability to the Lord and His people) need to go deep into the river and swim in the provision and goodness of the Lord so that as the Body of Christ we can see this nation bow her knee before her only Lord – Jesus Christ.

In holding the meetings for four nights a week (Tues, Wed, Fri & Sat), we have sufficient rest, but can sustain weekly as long as the Lord leads us to do so. Please do come and soak in His presence and anointing to see lives changed.
 
We are prayerful that the body of Christ will not miss this opportunity given by the Holy Spirit at this now time, as we are aware of the hearts of many pastors and flock have been genuinely crying out for revival consistently for years now. What if this is the beginning of what we were waiting for???  Will you delay or embrace what God is doing? How we would love to see you come and join with us! We release great blessing over you as you fight the good fight in prayer and action, for the gospel to do its work as you grow in His grace and love.

Area witches reportedly have the power to kill and cause tremendous physical suffering, besides terrorizing the community. The government routinely imprisons accused witches, but prison walls cannot contain their power. 

Witchcraft is common in the Central African Republic. According to the CIA, 25% of the population is Protestant and 25% is Roman Catholic, but the Christian population is heavily influenced by animistic religion. 

When witches in the villages saw the JESUS film and heard the Gospel in their own language, many were convicted by the Holy Spirit. They joyfully repented of their sins, experienced freedom from bondage, and turned their lives over to the Lord Jesus Christ. Now the people of the area call the JESUS film “The Miracle Film.” 

The region’s governor called the JESUS film team to thank them personally, saying, “I congratulate you because of the miracles that your film is doing among those witches. Now your team and you have the responsibility to preach through your miracle ‘JESUS film’ to all the towns and villages under my supervision.”

Praise the Lord for the power of the Gospel. Pray for the growth of these new believers. Pray also for their freedom from animism in a country the BBC calls “one of the least-developed countries in the world.

Our most wonderful Yahweh God is continuing to powerfully heal, restore and set people free each and every night at the Melbourne Revival Outpouring of the Holy Ghost! We are continually praising and thanking the Creator of the Universe for His intimate care to those He loves deeply. The result is every day numbers of people whose lives are no longer bound by drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and many other sinful addictions. Truly, God is prophetically preparing a holy people whose lives reflect His Glory and whose testimony will lead others into the only way, truth, and life of the Kingdom of God! Oh, how our Bridegroom King longs to commune with His beautiful Bride and to have her seeking Him as He returns to rule and reign on this earth!

Pastor Danny said, “I believe this is only the preparation for the Revival that is going to be poured out across Australia and the nations. We are simply ‘scratching the surface’ so to speak, and we will experience so much more of God’s Glory and Presence as we press in and determine to meet with the Lover of our souls. If this present anointing is so great and filled with blessing as we dwell in His Divine Glorious Presence at this level, just think how it will be when the Fullness of the Glory of God is released!! It was so amazingly awesome to witness more than 100 men respond to an altar call to surrender their lives completely to the Lordship of Jesus and to receive His exhortation in becoming better godly husbands, fathers and priest in their homes. Many of them were weeping at the altar on their knees, repenting and asking God to show them His way, as the Presence of God saturated them.

Earlier in the week, a 9 year old boy came to the altar and told Pastor Danny, “I currently wet my bed at nights as I get bullied at school and I am always really scared.” His mother explained, “My son was sexually and physically abused by a relative and as a result he is afraid and experiences troubled disturbed sleep at night. Due to this he wets the bed.”  Pastor Danny prayed for the boy in the victorious Name of Jesus as the anointing of the Holy Spirit broke every tormenting fear and curse affecting him, while helping the boy to personally experience the reality of Jesus in his life!

One of the Catch The Fire Ministry team met the mother yesterday and was delighted to hear her say, “My boy now sleeps well at night, does not wet the bed, and wants to come to the meetings every night. He is free from fear!” All glory to our merciful and gracious God who cares for all His precious children!

Another beautiful young woman was touched mightily by the Presence of God and danced all night in the freedom of the Spirit of the Lord. Many were so blessed to see this young woman dancing with so much joy like a little girl. Pastor Danny called out for testimonies and many responded with great excitement of how they had personally encountered Jesus as the Healer and Deliverer, and that they had been totally set free, made ‘anew’ by His goodness and grace! Applause exploded with shouts of joy as they heard the testimonies of the miracle working power of God!

The young woman came forward and shared her life testimony, and there was ‘pin drop’ silence as those hearing were reduced to tears of joy. The young woman said, “I left my husband and started prostituting myself. My husband told me to come back home, but asked me to consider going to church. I had been a Christian but fell away from Jesus awhile ago after becoming disillusioned. Today Jesus forgave and restored me, setting me free from my sin and has made me pure and clean again.” Glory to God as this young woman rededicated her life to the Lordship of Jesus shouting, “Hallelujah, I am free at last!”

The praise and worship ushered all who were hungry and thirsty into the inner court for hours at the altar, into the Holy of Holies, to worship the Father in Spirit and Truth, the One worthy of all praise, honour and glory!  Demonic oppression and infiltration must flee as desperate people are delivered, set free and healed from various sicknesses as they worship the Lord! This is our brazen God to whom all glory is due for this Mighty Outpouring of the Holy Ghost!  Let God increasingly arise as He scatters His enemies!

You are indeed welcome to come and dwell night after night in this heavenly atmosphere and imbibe His goodness, being released into a fuller walk of righteousness and sent back to your mission field to give to the lonely, the depressed and the lost, the Spirit, the Word, the Power and the Love of Jesus! Since 95 percent of my job involves either the internet, or email, I am usually not a fan of “forwards,” of which I receive many on a daily basis. However, I did receive a video recently that I would like to pass on, because I know it will bless our readers as it did me.

For one thing, it features one of my favorite Christian speakers, Louie Giglio, founder of Passion Conferences and worship, a ministry that brings the Gospel and God’s love to countless young people on college campuses throughout the United States.

The video is an excerpt from a message where Louie is relating a passage from the Psalm 33, talking about how God made the heavens, and yet has His eye on those who hope in Him, “to deliver them….” After reading the passage, he asks how we can be sure that God will be there for us, and that He holds onto us through every circumstance in our lives. Louie then points to an amazing fact of molecular biology within the human body. A substance that is of vital importance: Laminin.

He explains how he was told by a molecular biologist that “there are [thousands] of proteins in the human body. We don’t even know how many there are, but one of them is a cell-adhesion molecule that’s organized into a certain structure. It tells the cell what its job is in the body. It’s like the ‘rebar’ of the human body…it’s the glue…[that holds things together].”

Louie concludes with a passage from Colossians that ties it all together…

Col. 1:15-20 [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in Heaven and on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the Church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on Earth or things in Heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.

The video itself is around 8 minutes long, but well worth the watching. I purposely have not included a picture of the Laminin structure, as I don’t want to spoil the surprise of what you’ll see. Truly, we are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” and the Lord has hidden such wonderful revelations of Himself within each one of us!

God is moving so incredibly each night through the Melbourne Healing Revival that we simply stand aside and let Him have His way! This has been one of the most amazingly beautiful aspects of these gatherings that are so unique.  As Pastor Danny keeps reiterating, “We’ve all come hungry to meet with Jesus, so let’s all worship and adore Him and allow Him to have His way!”

Glory to God… where there is Light, darkness cannot prevail!  A highlight of each night is the worship atmosphere which prevails as people soak continually in the presence of God while receiving their miracle of healing, deliverance, and breakthrough. So many are set free from depression and demonic affliction - this is how the Kingdom of God is meant to be with people restored and prepared for the Bridegroom’s return! We at Catch the Fire Ministries are just a vessel that the Spirit of God is using to assist the Body of Christ to come to the King in readiness!

Some of the testimonies to Glorify the King of kings and LORD of lords:

·         A woman who was brought to the meeting in a wheel chair received healing and started walking without aid.

·         A 14 year old girl born deaf came to the altar for prayer with her parents. As the power of God touched her she was instantly healed and was able to hear.  Many other deaf people were also healed in the past few days.

·         A young woman who was suffering with Multiple Sclerosis for 4 ½ years came to the altar assisted by her mother. Pastor Danny laid hands on her prayed and asked her to walk. At first she was hesitant but then she slowly started walking until Pas Danny said, “We will hold you, but now you must run.” The woman responded, “No I cannot do it…” With encouragement, the young woman started running first with help then she said, “I am ready to run alone.” As she ran the people rejoiced and her mother wept tears of joy, as she had not been able to do so for 4 1/2 years.

·         An 11 year old girl received a word from God through Pastor Danny, was radically set free from depression and thoughts of suicide. She surrendered her life to the Lordship of Jesus, then went home and invited 3 friends and they also gave their lives to the Lord.

Many people are being saved (born again) and submitting to the Lordship of Jesus – including Buddhists, Hindus and Muslims. Last night a young Muslim man witnessed the power of God in action responding to the altar call he gave his life to Jesus.

Many are testifying how they have been radically changed through the Holy Spirit and cannot stop talking about the love, power and presence of Jesus!  Certainly people are getting revived as the dead bones are coming alive! What a mighty God we serve!

Another aspect of this Holy Ghost move of God is that marriages and relationships are being restored. People are forgiving each other and clinging on to Jesus. Around 50%  or more are new people coming to the Revival every night, as hundreds of thirsty Christians drink from the River of God’s presence.  People are absolutely enjoying staying in the presence of God every night for 4-5 hours.

Pastor Danny said, “The more time people spend in the presence of God, they are being transformed to reflect the love of Jesus. I do not fully understand everything. But all I know is Jesus is here, lives are being transformed, people are getting saved, healed and delivered as something awesome is happening!  A hungry and thirsty people are coming night after night to drink from the River. This is really good.  We as a family and our ministry team are so excited for what the Lord is doing!”

We here at Catch The Fire have ‘no adequate words’ to thank the Lord for this mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit which is clearly a supernatural move of God! People attending have commented that they have never been in a place where there have been so many miraculous healings and deliverances taking place. Others (particularly youth) are absolutely amazed as they are really seeing the power of God manifest as described in the book of Acts - right here in Melbourne, Australia!

Last night was the 7th continual night where people came to receive from the Lord, and they were not disappointed as many were radically transformed by Him. Intimate and extreme worship has been one of the highlights of these nights as continual soaking in His presence night after night takes place, preparing the Bride to meet with her Bridegroom!

A 19 year old bible school student was radically touched and set free from depression. She gave her testimony, “I was so depressed that I was planning suicide, when my Dad got an invitation through email from Catch The Fire Ministries regarding the Revival meetings. He really encouraged me to go. I felt like resisting, but changed my mind and went with him. What happened in the next few days was really cool. Pastor Danny prayed and broke depression over me and released a word from the Lord which sparked a fire inside me which was never there. That night I did not take the medication (for depression) which I have relied on for a year in order to sleep. Even with medication I could not sleep properly. This was the first night in many months I slept through the whole night.  The next night I was so greatly impacted that I went home and burned all my medication. For 7 days I have not taken medication, I am free from depression, and I am witnessing the love of Jesus to all my friends and even receiving prophetic words for them! Yesterday, we ended up having a prayer meeting and I having prayed for them, they were in tears.”  How tremendous is the Lord… Her Dad said, “I thank God that Jesus set her free in time!”

Many others were healed of various diseases and many more were set free from demonic activity, filling their vessels to overflowing with God’s Power and Glory!

Walking aids were discarded as ecstatic people ran heralded healed of Arthritis and knee problems. One Buddhist woman who had under gone surgery on her left hand (it was in plaster) could not lift her hand or move it. As Pastor Danny prayed, even before he could request her to lift it up, the fire of God fell upon her and she lifted both her hands and shouted, “Thank you, Thank you, my hand is healed - something is happening inside me! I can lift my hand high.” Then she started bowing toward Pastor Danny, who immediately stopped her and said, “Give your life to Jesus, He is the one who healed you!” The woman lifted up both hands, gladly accepting Jesus as her Saviour and Lord!

Many with deaf ears were healed as their hearing was restored. Another woman came to church for the very first time, suffering from severe back problems (10 years) and had undergone surgery several times. She lived with the pain for so long it was a lifestyle, but Jesus instantly healed her and she willing began her walk in Him.  She testified, “I never knew that God was real, now I believe in Him. I want to come for the meetings every night.” (Editor’s Note: The report from her chiropractor is in “comments” below)

Throughout the duration of the meetings members of Catch The Fire prayer team were praying in the prayer room, some receiving gold-dust and the oil of the Spirit on their palms, remaining after the meeting closed at midnight. Pastor Danny said, “Previously, I had been unsure of these particular supernatural manifestations, but now I know they are really from the Spirit of the Lord!”

The Revival meetings now will continue each night (except Wednesdays) until further notice: week nights at 7.30pm with weekends at 6.30pm. Yesterday was the 5th night of the Holy Ghost Revival Outpouring of Healing, Deliverance, and Salvation in Melbourne! Yes it was Monday night, yes people needed to go to school and to work on Tuesday morning, but a spiritually hungry and desperate God seeking people packed the church in Hallam in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, absolutely soaking in the Anointing of the Spirit of God until almost midnight!

Once again the powerful worship led the people into the Father’s Throne Room as the altar was jammed with people losing themselves in the glorious presence of God. It was so thrilling to see people going all out to praise and worship Jesus! As a demon-possessed woman was set free from evil spirits of witchcraft, serpent, false evangelism, false fire, death, and other demons, people started shouting, ‘GO JESUS! GO JESUS GO!’  Glory to God, the woman was weeping at the altar, rejoicing in the freedom she found worshipping at His feet, and ecstatically running around the church in the Delivering Presence of Jesus!

Over the past 5 nights the Lord has healed more than 75 expectant people of various sicknesses and diseases, including last night where many were healed, delivered, and set free in the Victorious Name of Jesus!

Praise the Lord for the word of knowledge (specific supernatural revelation by Spirit of God) flowing mightily through Pastor Danny who called out for people who were struggling with depression.  Within minutes the altar was full of people needing a spiritual and emotional breakthrough.

As Pastor Danny laid hands and prayed for each person, demonic spirits of depression and related problems began to manifest and come out of people. Many shocked Christians watched, as they had never seen such demonic manifestations in the past. People rolled on the ground, screaming in torment as the demonic spirits left their bodies in the Mighty Name of Jesus! Some testified of the weight that had been lifted off their shoulders and that they feel so free at last! One Christian woman who was a regular drinker of alcohol and addicted to nicotine said, “I smoked up to 50 cigarettes a day, but after prayer over the last few days I have not touched one cigarette. I dumped my cigarette cartons and champagne bottles in the rubbish bin. I thank Jesus for setting me free and cleaning up my house!” What a mighty God we serve!

Another  woman at the altar said that due to an operation a part of her right shoulder bone and a piece of flesh was taken out from her shoulder.  Consequently she could not lift her right hand up, but glory to God as Pastor Danny laid hands on her shoulder, the bone and flesh started to grow and she at once lifted her hands with tears streaming down her cheeks and shouted, “Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord I can do it!”

Many partially and fully deaf people were healed instantly in the Revival Outpouring as they trusted God for their miraculous healing. Deaf ears have been opening almost every night. Up until yesterday night most deaf ears that were healed were right ears, but amazingly every deaf ear that was healed last night was a left ear. Some one joked, God is impartial!

Pastor Danny said, ‘I wonder whether this is a message from the Lord to the Church in Australia, that we the Body of Christ need to stop running after programs and open our ears to listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying in this hour. This will not happen if we as Pastors, Leaders, and followers of Christ alike, do not spend quality time one on one in the presence of God.’

Another woman who could hardly speak due to an operation in her throat was healed and started shouting, ‘Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!’ Many others were healed of problems in their wrist, fingers, heel, hip, and other places in their body, as the pain left immediately through the miracle working power of God!  They started making movements with their body that they could not make before as some of them ran around the building with great excitement!

Pastor Danny said, ‘We believe that this is only the beginning. Get ready, the best is yet to come! I believe that so many Pastors, Leaders, Churches, Ministries, and fellow Christian believers have eagerly waited for such a day. Truly, persistent fervent prayer is opening up the Heavens over Australia. Let’s jump in the ocean of God’s infinite love and ride with this new wave of the Holy Spirit! We cannot miss this opportunity!”

We are so blessed to see so many young people soaking in the presence of God, being renewed, refreshed, and revived by the Spirit of God every night! We are so excited to see these on-fire young radicals for Jesus rejoicing in His goodness, as they keep coming back to the Revival Outpouring with their friends increasingly hungry for the Glory of God!

We give all glory to the King of kings and the Lord of lords for the beginning of His Mighty Healing, Deliverance, Salvation Revival Outpouring in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia! May His Revival Fire spread mightily across this Great South Land of the Holy Ghost!

Is ‘absolutely overwhelmed’ by this mighty outpouring of God’s glorious presence in Melbourne Australia, a phrase I can use to describe what is happening? Is this really happening in Australia? The answer is, “YES IT IS!!”  If you have not been at these Revival Glory Meetings, you are really missing out as this is something priceless that money cannot buy!  We continue to be amazed as thirsty people travel 4-5 hours, counting the cost, but coming in droves. Yes, clearly those who are desperate and hungry for God leave everything to take a long drink from the River flowing from of the Throne of Heaven!

As the 3rd night on Saturday arrived, the Christian Community Church in Hallam (10 minutes from Dandenong) was packed with some 400 people all intending to enter and abide in His presence, trusting and expecting miracles from the goodness of the Lord!  Pastor Danny had received prior a word from the Lord (Exodus 19:10-11) that He will visit His temple in His glory, on the third day - and yes, God fulfilled His Word as many people flocked to the alter to raise their hands and hearts in absolute worship as all journeyed into the Holy of Holies bringing harmonies of praise and worship for some 2 hours! The atmosphere was thundering with mighty shouts of joy and Holy Ghost rioters rejoicing as the shofars sounded the call for higher praise and warfare worship!
Pastor Danny declared the journey which brought us into this outpouring. He said, “I have waited for 9 years and in particular the past 7 ½ years in prayer across our nation. Today we are reaping what we have sown in prayer, fasting and tears. All glory to the Lord! I believe we have only tasted the beginnings of His Glory… if the beginnings are so great, just imagine, what His full Glory and Presence will be. My cry is, ‘bring it on Lord we are desperate and very hungry!’”
Then the altar was opened for healing and salvation.  Some surrendered their lives to Jesus for the very first time as many others got healed from many different sicknesses. A lady who was healed from deafness at Thursday night’s meeting, testified, ‘I had no ear drum in my right ear as it was taken out during an operation, but it has now grown back instantly after Pastor Danny prayed for me. My son said, Mum, put the phone on your right ear and I will talk to you to see whether you can hear.  I immediately did so and Glory to God I could hear perfectly! I have now removed my hearing aid from my left ear and I can hear very clearly from both ears.’
Many other deaf ears opened as people took out their hearing aids in expectation of their miraculous healing. A teenage boy was helped to the altar as he was fully paralyzed in his left side due to a stroke. Pastor Danny anointed him with oil and prayed for healing. Immediately he began to grab Pastor Danny’s hand and started squeezing it as he was told to do so. Life started returning to his left side. First, he was helped to lift his hand up, and then he lifted it by himself. Then Pastor Danny said, ‘Run in the name of Jesus’, and the boy ran as he was healed by the power of God!
A young girl came to receive prayer for her eye sight, as she could only see a meter away from where she stood without her contact lenses. After prayer she took off her lenses and could see very clearly, as her eye sight was completely restored.  She gave glory to God as she shared her testimony.
Many other faith expectant people were healed of knee, back, hip, ankle and neck problems. They were running up and down at the altar as they were healed through the supernatural fire and power of the Holy Ghost! Many more spiritually oppressed and tormented Christians were delivered and set free from demonic spirits that fled in the mighty Name of Jesus!
As Pastor Danny was praying for a man who had knee problems, another man in the crowd called his grandmother on the cell phone, as she was having a lot of pain in her legs and wanted the Lord to heal her. This man testified on Sunday night that his grandmother was healed that same night as she listened to the prayer through the phone. He said that his grandmother told him that first she saw a huge wing covering her in her bedroom as she listened to the prayer. Then at once the power of God touched her! Furthermore, when she woke up the next morning, all the pain was gone. Praise the Lord!
Even after midnight, people were still lying on the floor at the altar in the Revival Glory Outpouring. The hungry youth and young adults are jumping into the River to soak in His presence, as their heart’s desire to share the love and power of Jesus with others is propelling them into action! The Holy Spirit is convicting many of sin, righteousness and judgment, as the Living Word is moving among us! They are praying, they are staying, they are empowered, and you can’t keep them quiet! These radical soldiers of the Cross are ‘dangerous’ to the devil!

Sunday night was a very different anointing and presence of the Lord than the previous 3 nights.  Our heart’s one desire in this Revival Glory Outpouring is to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit and to allow Him to do whatever He wants to do!  The presence of God was so strong that the worship went on for almost 4 1/2 hours.  As thirsty people gathered at the altar to drink from the River, the Spirit of the Lord began to do a deep work in the hearts of the surrendered people!
During the night, a few people saw a bright light shining in the meeting and Pastor Danny saw a vision of angels descending from Heaven through the glow of light. Each angel was carrying a ‘Golden Heart’ in their hands. At this point, Pastor Danny was laying prostrate on the altar, asking the Lord for the interpretation of this prophetic vision.  The Lord said, “I’m giving My people a new heart, as many hearts are broken and wounded. I’m giving them My heart, a heart of love for the lost, to prepare My Bride for My coming!”
Pastor Danny moved very strongly in the prophetic anointing, delivering a word from God to almost everyone at the altar.  As the prophetic words were released, hearts were deeply touched as many wept in the healing presence of God.  Much spiritual bondage was broken on this night, as many people were set free from generational curses, freemasonry, witchcraft, and other demonic strongholds!
Many others were delivered from the spirit of fear as perfect Love casts out all fear. Many received inner healing as they soaked their souls and spirits in the Healing River of the amazing love of Father God. Truly, our Father in Heaven has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind!
Pastor Danny said, “I am so glad to see the body of Christ being set free and prepared to bring in the end time harvest. I am amazed at the number of born again Christians being set free from demonic spirits. They tell me, ‘I cannot believe that I had demonic spirits operating in my life. I’ve been in church for so long.’ Well, there is still a lot of work to be done, and surely for some, the need to soak in His presence is what it takes. Dear Pastors and Leaders, please do not hold your people back from this River of Revival. I am sure your sincere desire is to see your people walk into God’s calling and destiny, so please release them and make sure that nothing gets in the way of you or them receiving powerfully from the Spirit of God. If I could be so bold; I urge you to delay your weekly programs and let the sheep in your care come for a lasting, reviving drink from the river of the Holy Ghost!”

Accusation: Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali claims radical Islam is filling the moral vacuum left by the decline in Christian virtues

The collapse of Christianity has wrecked British society, a leading Church of England bishop declared yesterday.

It has destroyed family life and left the country defenceless against the rise of radical Islam in a moral and spiritual vacuum.

In a lacerating attack on liberal values, the Right Reverend Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, said the country was mired in a doctrine of ‘endless self-indulgence’ that had brought an explosion in public violence and binge-drinking.

In a blow to Gordon Brown, he mocked the ’scramblings and scratchings’ of politicians who try to cast new British values such as respect and tolerance.

The Pakistani-born bishop dated the downfall of Christianity from the ’social and sexual revolution’ of the 1960s.

He said Church leaders had capitulated to Marxist revolutionary thinking and quoted an academic who blames the loss of ‘faith and piety among women’ for the steep decline in Christian worship.

Dr Nazir-Ali said the ‘ newfangled and insecurely founded’ doctrine of multiculturalism has left immigrant communities ’segregated, living parallel lives’.

Christian values of human dignity, equality and freedom could be lost as the way is left open for the advance of brands of Islam that do not respect Western values.

The Bishopric of Rochester is one of the ten most powerful positions in the Church of England.

Dr Nazir-Ali’s attack on the decline of Christianity appears to put him in the opposite corner to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, and many of his fellow bishops.

But he holds some views in common with the Church’s other widely-heard and popular prelate, Ugandan-born Dr John Sentamu, the Archbishop of York.

Over the past six months, Dr Nazir-Ali has made a number of criticisms of Islam and its influence.

Among them have been charges about the spread of no-go areas for non-Muslims and worries over the impact of new mosques.

Last weekend he was one of just three bishops who backed a move in the Church’s parliament, the General Synod, to encourage the conversion of Muslims to Christianity.

His latest attack once again criticises Dr Williams’s backing for sharia law, saying that ‘recognising its jurisdiction in public law is fraught with difficulties, precisely as it arises from a different set of assumptions than the tradition of law here’.

Dr Nazir-Ali detailed his arguments in an article in the newly-launched political magazine Standpoint.

The bishop, himself an immigrant from Pakistan in the mid-1980s, admitted that he might be thought the least qualified person to discuss British identity. But he quoted Kipling: ‘What should they know of England who only England know?’

The bishop said ’something momentous’ had happened in the 1960s. He quoted historians who point to a cultural revolution in which women ceased to uphold or pass on the Christian faith and to the role of Marxist revolutionaries.

Dr Nazir-Ali pointed with approval to a finding that ‘instead of resisting this phenomenon, liberal theologians and church leaders all but capitulated.

Criticised: Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Rowan Williams has controversially backed sharia law

He said: ‘It has created the moral and spiritual vacuum in which we now find ourselves.’ In the place of Christianity there was nothing ‘except perhaps endless self-indulgence’.

The bishop said the consequences were ‘the destruction of the family because of the alleged parity of different forms of life together, the loss of a father figure, especially for boys, because the role of fathers is deemed otiose, the abuse of substances (including alcohol), the loss of respect for the person leading to horrendous and mindless attacks, the increasing communications gap between generations and social classes - the list is very long.’

Another result, he said, was that immigrants had been welcomed, not on the basis of Britain’s Christian heritage, to which they would be welcome to contribute, but by the ‘newfangled and insecurely-founded doctrine of multiculturalism’.

The bishop warned that views not founded on Christianity would not produce the same values. ‘Instead of Christian virtues of humility, service and sacrifice, there may be honour, piety, the saving of face, etc’.

He questioned what resources were available for an ideological battle against radical Islamism, saying ‘the scramblings and scratchings around of politicians for values which would provide ammunition’ were hardly adequate.

Convert who crusaded against the extremists

Born into a Roman Catholic family in Pakistan, the young Michael Nazir-Ali converted to Anglicanism at the age of 20.

As a young man, he suffered rough treatment of the kind regularly handed out to Christians in a country where failing to follow the official religion can sometimes end in murder.

He moved to Cambridge to study theology and then returned as a priest to Pakistan before being brought to London in the 1980s to serve as an assistant to the then Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Robert Runcie.

He is one of the bishops who has been called on by the Prince of Wales to give advice on Islam.

However, Dr Nazir-Ali does not share the prince’s enthusiasm for Islamic values. He has warned Charles to give up his hope of being ‘defender of faiths’ because of the incompatibility of different beliefs.

Dr Nazir-Ali has accused Muslims of promoting double standards by looking for both ‘victimhood and domination’; he has called for powers for officialdom to remove veils from Muslim women for security reasons; and he has warned repeatedly over the dangers of extremism.

In particular he has called on Islamic leaders to allow Muslims to abandon their beliefs and adopt other religions.

Dr Nazir-Ali has spoken up for an estimated 3,000 Britons under threat of retaliation for giving up their faith and he has condemned Islamic states that maintain the death penalty for apostasy.

His outspokenness has put him in the vanguard of opposition to hardline Islamism and made him one of the highest-placed enemies of the gay rights movement.

He angered the Archbishop of Canterbury by threatening to boycott this year’s Lambeth Conference of Anglican bishops from around the world.

He has criticised civil partnerships and opposed the extension of IVF treatment to single women and lesbians.

Dr Nazir-Ali has much in common with the Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu. Unlike him, however, he does not have a populist touch.

This may have contributed to his failure to win the post of Archbishop of Canterbury, for which he was once considered a leading candidate.

The 58-year-old bishop has now remained in Rochester for nearly 14 years.

Dear Family and Friends in Christ,
 
It is absolutely exciting to be in the centre of a mighty outpouring of the Holy Ghost in Melbourne, Australia!
We at Catch the Fire Ministries have dreamed in prayerful expectation for such a day when we would begin to see the tangible presence and supernatural power of God poured out in our nation!
 
Last night was another absolutely glorious night in this increasing outpouring of the Spirit!  Several hundred spiritually hungry and thirsty people of God entered His manifest presence through anointed praise and prophetic worship to touch Heaven and change Earth!  The freedom of the Spirit of God reigned (and rained) as many people left their seats for the altar, to dance, to weep, to laugh at a defeated devil, to corporately worship the King of kings and Lord of lords!
 
Even before the message from the Word of God was preached, the word of knowledge by revelation of the Spirit, began operating powerfully through Pastor Danny as many responded in faith to the altar in expectation of the healing of kidneys, liver and ovary problems. Many were touched mightily by God and said that the pain had left them. We await their doctor’s reports in the next few days.
 
Pastor Danny taught from the book of Ezekiel in the Bible, on entering, abiding, and swimming in the River of the Holy Spirit. Many were mightily touched by the anointed Word of the Lord, and ran to the altar to drink more from the River of Heaven!
 
Glory to God for His mighty healings, miracles, signs and wonders! A man who was completely deaf in his right ear, and partially deaf in his left ear, received instant healing as he took his hearing aid out and heard clearly! Many others desperate to personally encounter the Great Physician and Deliverer Himself, were healed of various sicknesses and diseases, in addition to being set free from the devil’s bondage, as demonic spirits came out of many people in the victorious name of Jesus!  Many in the crowd could not stop shouting for joy as the wind of the Spirit of God blew through the place! Truly, the Joy of the Lord is our Strength!
 
Pastor Danny left the meeting at 12.30am (after midnight), but thank the Lord that the Holy Spirit did not leave, as people were still laying on the floor soaking in the awesome presence of God!
 
Seeing the great things that God is doing in this Revival Glory Outpouring, we have decided to extend the meetings for another 3 days -  Sun 15th at 6.00pm, Mon 16th & Tues 17th June at 7.30pm.
 
We encourage every one of you (family and friends) to come trusting the Lord to experience His miracle working power, but above all to soak in His manifest presence and to radically encounter the Eternal River of Heaven!

This amazing first night of the Revival Glory Outpouring started off with Throne-room focused praise and worship as people filled the church building, some even standing, as all came expecting to meet with God.
During this Holy Spirit power and presence filled meeting, the heavens opened up with natural showers of blessing, as heavy rains and a great wind blowing through the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, were heard through most of the service.  I wondered, ‘Lord, is this like the day of Pentecost, when suddenly, the sound of a mighty rushing wind blew through the upper room where the 120 disciples had united in one accord to wait on the promise of the Holy Spirit?’  Yes, certainly there was a mighty rushing wind blowing through the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne on the first night of the Revival Glory Outpouring.
The anointing of God flowed as people entered into His presence in worship, with blowing  of shofars, praising, flags waving and many shouting with claps of joy, all lifting up the Name above all names, Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour!
Pastor Danny ministered the word of God, teaching the people the importance of being filled with the Spirit and of praying in tongues, opening the altar as many came to receive. Following this the altar was filled with people needing a healing touch from the Lord, as Pastor Danny laid hands on every single person who came.
Two women who were completely deaf in their right ear received instant healing and testified to God’s glorious healing power as they could now hear.
A young girl was touched by the presence of God and set free from many demonic spirits.  A few members of the Catch the Fire Ministry team assisted Pastor Danny in delivering her from the enemy’s afflictions into the freedom of Jesus.
This girl testified, ‘I have been a Christian for a long time, but did not know that I had demons. I always knew that something was wrong with me, but now I know I am FREE!!’  Several others with demons were released from torment. Glory to God, what a mighty God we serve!
Others were healed from kidney problems, neck conditions and many other diseases. A man who had 2 operations on his spine (pain for 20 years) was instantly healed as the pain left him. A woman with knee problems (could not bend them) received healing and started to run across the altar area, giving glory to God.
This opening night finished at 11.30pm as people were hungry to stay in the presence of God, soaking in His goodness and benefits. I could go on and on with the great things that the Lord did, but shall stop here and challenge you to come tonight Friday 13th at 7:30pm and tomorrow Saturday 14th June at 7pm , spiritually hungry and thirsty to radically encounter a miracle working God.
Pastor Danny stated, “I have been waiting for this day for 7 1/2 years in prayer with my intercessory teams across the nation of Australia. Glory to God, it is now at hand. This is only the beginning of His Revival Outpouring. I believe we are in for a Holy Ghost explosion!”

“People suddenly became aware of the importance of death and people are more willing to listen. At the same time, Christians can go to witness to them. We also went to hospitals and were quite surprised—things are quite open. The leaders wanted people to visit, not only to identify their own family members, but to encourage and comfort those traumatized patients.”

(Santa Ana, CA)—The following is [a portion of] an interview with Open Doors Director of China Training (his name is not given due to security issues). He talks about the devastating earthquake which hit China on May 12, and how Christians are making an impact physically and spiritually during relief efforts. (The earthquake left 69,000 dead, 18,000 missing and 5 million homeless.)

After your trip to Chengdu, China, can you describe what you saw when you were there?

As many of you have already seen on the news, the devastation and total disaster happening to these innocent people is extremely difficult to witness. Although we really do not know how many Christians died, the Christian ratio in Sichuan province is one of the lowest in the country (1 to 2 percent of the population.) Reports indicate that many Christians survived the earthquake.

For example, one group of Believers were praying in a rather old building on that day. Logically, when the earthquake hit the area, this building should have gone down. But the old building survived with all the Christians safe inside while other seemingly stronger buildings collapsed all around them. One Believer did not attend prayer meeting that day but went to sell vegetables at the market. She was crushed to death when the market building collapsed.

The buildings of three churches we work with are damaged so badly that they can no longer hold meetings inside and they need to be rebuilt in the future. However, we also saw the strong hand of God among the believers from the first day—Christians were driving their own cars and purchasing medicine, water and food to go to the areas which were missed by the government trucks and cars. And, without exception, before distributing those goods, Christians are telling survivors about eternal hope and eternal salvation. People are extremely touched by the fact that others would come and provide for their needs. Many of them are saying for the first time, “Thank God, thank Jesus,” and they are hearing the Gospel. These churches will continue to follow up and continue to evangelize for many weeks and months to come. These churches will be busy meeting the needs of the survivors and also telling them about eternal life.

So there are more possibilities to evangelize today than there were before?

Yes, Sichuan is a poor province and churches are not very strong. One church we visited, a small church with about 40 households, lost half of their members because the Eastern Lightning (a Chinese cult) attack caused them to discontinue believing. Pastors struggle with poor surroundings and hilly roads when they make their rounds.

But the earthquake may have changed all that. People suddenly became aware of the importance of death and people are more willing to listen. At the same time, Christians can go to witness to them. We also went to hospitals and were quite surprised—things are quite open. The leaders wanted people to visit, not only to identify their own family members, but to encourage and comfort those traumatized patients.

Christians from elsewhere in China, then, are going to help in the devastated area?

This is another “all things working together for good.” Traveling would have been prohibited because of the Olympics coming in August, but groups we work with in other cities are forming groups of volunteer helpers. One group has 17, another has 30, including nurses and doctors, who are raising funds for their own transportation and also bringing extremely generous donations. They are not only going for a few days or a few weeks, they are going to stay there long-term so they can truly express the love of God to these people who are suffering so much.

“I say, you have nothing to lose but your sickness. If the doctors can’t help you, why wouldn’t you give God a chance?”

FOUNDING EDITOR’S NOTE: I debated whether or not to even link to this MSNBC story. It was well done, but the secular media feels, as is normal, the obligation to post both pro and con arguments toward this revival or any news story, honestly. One can’t blame that approach as they are not there to “fan the flames” for the Church . . . at least not yet. So in order for them to be considered “news,” they have to find someone on most stories who say “My take on this is that it isn’t good.” (words to that effect). So it is with mixed feelings (mostly good) that I post this story. The summary was well written by our own Teresa Neumann with Breaking Christian News. As many of you link to the story from MSNBC, I would encourage the reader to remember what Jesus’ response was when His strange healings were happening and John the Baptist was stuck in prison. “Are you the ONE?” He was asked, “or should we look for another?” Jesus’ response was simple and direct: “. . . So He replied to the messengers, ‘Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.’” Luke 7:21-22 (NIV) - Steve Shultz, BCN.

(Lakeland, Florida)—MSNBC has published yet another report on the Lakeland Revival, or the “Florida Outpouring,” which began on April 2 with healing meetings conducted by evangelist Todd Bentley at Ignited Church in Lakeland, Florida.

The report explains how the meetings have “outgrown four venues, including a local convention center that seats roughly 7,000. Now,” the report states, “they meet under an air-conditioned tent that can accommodate 10,000 on the grounds of the local airport. Organizers estimate that more than 140,000 people from at least 40 nations have attended meetings here.”

The article, coming from a secular outlet, explains to readers their interpretation of some of the charismatic manifestations that go in the meetings, such as people being “slain in the Spirit” when they are prayed for. The article also predictably interviews critics of the revival to which Bentley responds, “I don’t have time to debate whether revival is happening or not. I don’t have time to nitpick the reasons why God might not be moving.” (Photo: Courtesy Loren Brown)

On a positive note, people who have been healed through the Lakeland Revival were cited. Examples include a man who testified to being healed of multiple forms of cancer by watching the meetings on the Internet at home and plans to have his oncologist document his healing, and a wheel-bound Arkansas woman healed from injuries sustained in an accident three years ago.

Bentley’s method of receiving donations caught the reporter’s attention as well, with it being noted that his meetings are free of charge and that other than the typical passing of white offering buckets each night four hours into the service, they have only asked for money once.
Fresh Fire spokeswoman Lynne Breidenbach says the offerings have covered their enormous operating costs and have not contributed to a significant infusion of cash for Bentley or his ministry. Bentley himself is quoted as saying he “welcomes media attention and scrutiny because the ‘outpouring’ is a work of God and he has ‘nothing to hide.’”

THE private Kevin Rudd is smashing into the public image of Kevin Rudd, and his blood is now all over the polls.

I’ve said it for a year, but only now do more Left-leaning commentators agree there’s a potentially fatal flaw in the Prime Minister.

It’s that personality thing. Once again we find - as we did with the unstable Mark Latham - that character in politics is king. Or knave.

The public Kevin Rudd is in fact more charming than the original, as well as calmer and more self-assured.

He talks of long-term plans, is usually cool in a crisis, smiles often and exudes an intelligence no one doubts.

His pitch is spot-on: “I’m Kevin, and I’m here to help.” And this is the Kevin that until this week had approval ratings higher than any seen before.

Yet the private Kevin Rudd is rather different - actually deeply uncertain and short of big ideas.

You may think this impossible to believe of a man who, despite his sometimes nervous giggle and trembling leg, seems crisply efficient and a whirlwind of fresh thinking.

But just check which “new” idea he singled out for most praise from his Ideas Summit — to invent a bionic eye that in fact had already been invented.

Or note the one that’s so bogged him down this past shambolic week - to set up a dodgy FuelWatch scheme that even its few supporters admit might at best save motorists a cent a litre, but at worst will cost more.

Or observe how his biggest decisions almost always involve ordering yet another review - into carbon trading, say, or grocery prices, or Aboriginal welfare, or taxes, or infrastructure.

In private conversation, Rudd seems just as limited, at least in my small experience, but also in the experience of some who know him better.

To (over) compensate, this private Rudd is arrogant, obsessed with power and desperate to bury himself in the frantic paper-shuffling that is the substitute for action.

It’s not for nothing that in Question Time in Parliament, where he is most on trial, he surrounds himself with as many as 17 piles of paper.

Watch him move sheets from one pile to another, sometimes unread, or scribble notes as if at random, while listening out for his next question. Without those papers for comfort, he’d feel like Samson shaved.

Being so manic, and so unsure of himself, he’s of course also famously impatient and short-tempered - which is why it’s no surprise he’s had six diary secretaries in just six months.

And it’s also no surprise that some senior public servants or Labor staffers, badly bruised, have leaked damaging Cabinet submissions exposing him as a FuelWatch fraud.

I used to meet Rudd over dinner or coffee back when I was touting him as the leader Labor should have.

Even then I realised he couldn’t listen to an opposing argument, or not without bristling, as if it were personal. There wasn’t that deep listening you got from John Howard even when you told him to his face he should quit.

Just why this uncertainty, I can’t say. Losing his father early? Being the poor relation while young? Being bookish - a “nerd” - at school?

There are some clues, of course. There is Rudd’s wildly exaggerated - yet genuinely felt - telling of how his mother and he were booted out of their home by a wicked farmer after the death of his sharefarmer father.

There’s the call he made to Sunday Age reporter Jason Koutsoukis, who’d written that Rudd was the kind of person who’d been a “prat” at school - a call that had Rudd shouting that Koutsoukis was a fat, smelly genital.

There’s also his decision to hire as his global warming guru Professor Ross Garnaut, who actually knew nothing about the science but had been, as ambassador to Beijing, Rudd’s boss when the young man was a junior diplomat. A delicious reversal of roles.

And there was Rudd’s astonishingly long trip overseas this year - a trip with no real agenda, producing no real results, but one that let him fluff his feathers to world leaders who’d only known him, if at all, as a dowdy Opposition spokesman.

All this might not matter much - after all, it’s often unhappy or uncertain people that are driven to do the greatest deeds. But some of Rudd’s ways of compensating for his insecurities are now getting in his way.

One is his refuge in urgent busy-busy.

It’s no problem if Rudd keeps up the dawn-to-midnight regime that’s given him the “Kevin 24/7″ tag he revels in. Let him bust his gut, if it’s in the service of good government. But it’s another thing to insist everyone around him works so frantically, too, and to so little real purpose.

Public servants are being rung at dawn, summoned on a Sunday, or kept back until bedtime, which is fine, you might say, but not if reports wanted by yesterday and produced overnight are then left unread.

Fine, but not if four departments must investigate a scheme like FuelWatch, only to have their advice against it wilfully ignored.

Fine, but not if the heads of government departments, and all Rudd’s ministers, are told to sit in on his “community Cabinet” meetings, just to watch Rudd hog the microphone for hours, chatting with voters come to complain about funding for a local school or - and I’m not making this up - to reveal some “new paradigm” inspired by the Zulus.

What an aggravating waste of time this seeming busy then becomes. Last month top bureaucrats, including the head of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, were even ordered in for a meeting of the national security committee of Cabinet, only to be left sitting in the corridor for two hours waiting for the Prime Minister.

Part of this may be no more than Rudd being undisciplined and beyond anyone’s power to control.

After all, he was famously late for his campaign launch speech last year, and late again to Victorian Labor’s state conference last month.

But a part of this, I’m sure, is Rudd asserting his power, as much to himself as to others. And that cannot make for efficient government.

The same is true of Rudd’s other habit of compensation - exulting in his authority.

He’s never been popular with colleagues for radiating the vibe that he feels he’s the smartest man in the room. But now it seems he’d like it known he’s the most powerful, too.

So one of his first actions in office was to order all his ministers to visit a couple of schools and homeless shelters and report back — as if they didn’t already know their own electorates. And as if Rudd cared for their reports, either.

This asserting of status is an old tic. Aboriginal leader Noel Pearson recalled seeing Rudd at work two decades ago as the right-hand man of Queensland premier Wayne Goss, serving as head of the office of Cabinet.

Pearson said his intelligence was equalled by his arrogance: “In meetings with mining industry leaders, Rudd would hold court with his feet on the desk in front of his supplicants.”

The late Tom Burns, then deputy premier, added: “I’d go past his phone and there’d be all these Post-It notes stuck on it . . . I’d just say to Rudd’s secretary, ‘You might as well throw all them notes in the bin’. Kevin just didn’t ever bother phoning anyone back.”

Such was his reputation for control and arrogance that he was known as “Dr Death”, and was blamed in part for giving the Goss government a reputation for high-handedness that caused its 1995 defeat.

Still, Rudd was terribly young for such responsibility, and many of us learn from our mistakes. But how well is Rudd learning from his own?

He is still paranoid about control, micro-managing details best left to a deputy flunky. Even senior ministers must check their press releases with his office, and many do not dare move a muscle without his approval. The result is logjams and second-guessing.

That fierce urge to control also makes Rudd so poll-driven that he’s been unable to make one tough political decision in his first six months, despite huge voter goodwill.

And so a Budget he swore would be brutal - had to brutal - actually increased spending. Now this fuss over petrol prices has panicked him into suggesting he may leave petrol out of his planned carbon trading scheme, making a nonsense of his vow to slash emissions and “stop” global warming.

There’s time and chance to change all this, of course. Rudd is still very popular, even if this week’s Newspoll

has voter satisfaction with his performance dropping seven points to 56 per cent, thanks to his erratic performance over petrol prices.

What’s more, he faces an Opposition that’s still far from selling itself as a credible alternative government.

And give Rudd credit. He is very clever, endlessly hardworking, and more ambitious than Caesar. I’m sure he is eager to do good, and if he sees he must change, he will doubtless try.

But changing policies is one thing. Changing yourself by addressing weaknesses in your very character is a monstrously difficult other.

Still, John Howard in office grew as a man as well as leader, becoming so much warmer that he became a serial hugger. So why not Rudd?

For him, the challenge will be to grow into the man voters imagine he already is. In fact, I’m sure that’s the carefully constructed man Rudd knows he should be, too, and all that holds him back now is his character.

Watching him take a deep breath and address that will be to see unfold the story of the rest of his career.
