PETER Costello was in Jerusalem last week, just a few metres from where Christ rose from the dead, when he heard a voice.

“Mate,” it said.

“Mate, ya gotta take over the leadership.”

It was just another tourist who’d recognised the former treasurer as the Messiah, despite his cunning disguise of T-shirt and daggy shorts.

But what he told Costello close by the Church of the Holy Sepulchre was no more than what far better connected Liberals were telling him, too, in calls, emails and text messages to their last hope, over in Israel. Never have I seen a BlackBerry wink so furiously.

The despair of the Liberals is now almost complete.

Not two years after their election defeat, they’ve junked one leader, nice Brendan Nelson, and have seen the second all but destroy himself.

Malcolm Turnbull is now as close to finished as Opposition Leader as he can be without actually getting the boot.

Three different newspaper polls this week agreed the Liberals were heading to an electoral shellacking under him, and that his own credibility had taken a huge hit after he relied upon a fake email to accuse Prime Minister Kevin Rudd of using his office to look after a mate, neighbour and car dealer who’d given him cash and a car.

And the worst of it all was that Turnbull used this email - purportedly sent by one of Rudd’s staff - to mount a suicidal attack over an issue that the public tells pollsters is too boring to even follow, anyway.

All was risked for nothing.

Turnbull may yet recover, of course, not just because much of Rudd’s power rests on a brittle platform of stunts, but because nothing is ever final in politics until you’re dragged out by your heels.

Just ask John Howard, the “Lazarus with a triple bypass” who was finished twice over . . . until he became our second-longest serving prime minister.

But that truth also brings me irresistibly to Costello, who this week’s Nielsen poll says now outpolls Turnbull as preferred leader by two to one.

No, nothing is final even with him until he’s actually out of parliament he’s sworn he’s leaving. And that’s why some Liberals (but not yet enough) are begging Costello to stage a resurrection - if not like Christ’s, then at least like Colin Barnett’s.

Barnett, you may remember, is the Liberal who last year said he’d had enough of politics, too, after losing his battle for the leadership of the West Australian Liberals, then in opposition.

He was quitting, and the Liberals even selected a new candidate for his seat.

But just a month or two from the election, the party’s new leader was caught sniffing a woman’s chair, and the Liberals in despair implored Barnett - the only credible alternative left - to stay on and take over.

Reluctantly, he agreed - and is now premier of his state.

This, with Costello in the title role, is the scenario many Liberals cling to as their best hope to avoid devastation at the next election, which - if not called early - will be held a year from now.

After all, faith in Turnbull is sinking fast. He may be bright and ferociously ambitious, but his political judgment has been deeply flawed.

He’s been too quick to attack without checking the ground. He’s put the wrong people in some of the best jobs.

He tries too hard to please people who’d never be his friend - especially journalists - and has chased Leftist policies, especially on global warming, that anger the staunchest of Liberals, including his own MPs.

And he still buries his best messages in far too many words.

BUT if not Turnbull, then who? Treasury spokesman Joe Hockey is too untested and too jovial.

The talented and thoughtful Tony Abbott is unfortunately seen as too Christian and crash-through. Andrew Robb is . . . um, well, do you know who Robb is?

In fact, the Liberals face the absurd dilemma of having only two potential leaders with half a chance - one who’s been thrown out of parliament and the other who says he’s skedaddling, too.

The first is John Howard, of course, who lost not only the last election but his seat, yet remains an adult in a time when parliament seems stuffed with children.

Howard, incidentally, is no older than was Winston Churchill half way through his own first time as prime minister.

The other is Costello, who seems perfectly content with his decision to retire, yet strangely receptive to pleas to reconsider.

No doubt the man is simply flattered to be wanted, yet should one day the party, united - and very close to an election - beg on its bended knees for him to lead . . .

I know, I know. Pure fantasy, but even now Costello refuses to point blank tell me so.

What’s more, I spent the past week at a leadership dialogue in Israel with both Costello and Deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Rudd’s obvious successor, and know which of the two most seemed foreman material.

I admire Gillard, it’s true, despite her spending so many billions on so little for our schools, and her ambition for the top job seems twice Costello’s.

But it was repeatedly clear that she is all caution and process, while Costello is more confident and daring. More visionary, dare I say.

I am bound to keep confidential what I observed at the dialogue itself, but the speeches of the two rivals at the opening night dinner at the King David Hotel tell the tale.

Gillard read from a prepared speech about her support for Israel - just one more part of the rebadging of this former Socialist Forum leader as a neo-hardnose and potential statesman.

Even so, she couldn’t resist shiny-eyed appeals to conversation as the alternative to conflict, as if Israel could just talk its way out of mortal danger.

COSTELLO, on the other hand, spoke passionately and entirely without notes, so comfortable was he with his topic.

He told jokes, recounted Australia’s gallant military history in Palestine, and pointedly reminded the Israeli and Australian crowd that “some” of those present had defended Israel from their student days.

Which means others hadn’t, Julia.

Costello was in command. Gillard was merely auditioning.

Had more Liberals seen it than the three who were present - including Turnbull’s chief tactician, Christopher Pyne - even more would have added their voices to the one Costello heard a few days later by the hill of Golgotha.

Peter, rise again. Your people await their Messiah.

I’ve been praying that the church in Australia will be proactive and move into revival through a season of increasing prosperity and favor with God.  However, unfortunately I believe that most part of the church has sadly chosen to be reactive and will now experience revival only through persecution. Why should we the church wait until something goes wrong to wake up and put it right, after having paid a heavy price? Well, the sad truth is that most of the church is not hearing the voice of God, nor willing to obey even if they do hear His voice!

There is a big difference between believing (passive) and obedience (faith in action). Just simply believing will not bring revival. We must ACT on what we believe in faith to see revival. I think we in Australia chose to go with persecution when we made the choice to elect a government in 2007 with more than 80% anti-Christian politicians and dumped a government with more than 70% Christians, including some great morally sound Christians at the top of its leadership.

Before the 2007 election the Lord gave me a clear prophetic word, “If my people UNITE, PRAY & ACT,  John Howard would be re-elected and Peter Costello will take on the leadership.” When John Howard (former Prime Minister) was not re-elected, I was criticized by many Christian leaders who praised Kevin Rudd (current Prime Minister) as the man of God for the hour. In particular one very well known prayer ministry leader even mocked me through his national email database, praising Kevin Rudd as one of the godliest Christian Prime Ministers in Australia’s history.

Strangely enough this same Christian leader now sends emails calling on Christians to lobby against the unrighteous laws that have been introduced and supported  by the Rudd government. In some emails he states, we cannot let these laws get through as it is against God’s will. We desperately need to stop the Rudd government from doing so.

Another prominent Christian leader who promoted Rudd as a very good alternative to Howard is now pleading with people to write to the government to STOP homosexual laws, abortion laws, Bill of rights and the list goes on and on. Sorry sirs, the horse has already bolted out into the field. Now we must repent, pray, and ask God to prepare us to be strong in the Lord as we face increasing persecution. It would have been better to put the fence around the top of the mountain rather than an ambulance at the bottom.

Some Christian leaders told me, “Danny, we prayed for the election but Howard did not get re-elected.” I then asked them, “if you genuinely lay down your political loyalties, which government had better Christian values??” Most of them answered, “definitely the Howard government.”  So I asked them, “did you ACT on what you believed by telling your congregation how to vote?” The answer was very sad as they replied, “we cannot upset the congregation.” This is a major problem in the church today. Most church leaders want to keep everyone happy. Political correctness has taken over much of the church. Although many Christian leaders prayed for the election, most did not ACT on what they knew was right deep inside of their heart.

Unfortunately we will be most likely stuck with the current government for some time as Satan (the god of this world) has free reign to bring in more ANTI-CHRISTIAN laws. This will result in the church being terribly affected and severe restrictions placed on the church.  Even if the opposition in government comes into power, I do not see much hope with its current leadership.

Soon many churches will have spies sitting in the congregation (Like what the ICV & EOC did to CTFM in 2002)waiting to complain against Pastors who preach against sin, wickedness, and evil such as homosexuality, abortion etc.  Then churches will have to decide whether they will preach the gospel according to the government or stand for the truth and go to jail, very similar to what happened in Russia, China, and many other nations facing persecution by the government. Oh Lord, please have mercy on us!

Many have asked me, “aren’t Rudd and Obama God’s choice?” The answer I believe is a BIG NO! Would God choose leaders who approve the killing of babies in the womb, legalise homosexuality, and destroy our Judeo-Christian heritage? No! No! NO! God would not choose such leaders. How did they get into office then? It was man’s choice, not God’s! What you ask is what you get.  What you sow is what you reap, just like the biblical history of the nation of Israel.

In Mathew Chapter 24 we read the signs of the end times and of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ! One sentence in this chapter sums it all up, “these are the beginnings of birth pains.” In Hebrew this means ‘contractions’.  I believe the world is in deep contractions never ever as before. The volume of disasters has rapidly increased. Some describe not as 2 fold, nor 3 fold, but a 100 fold!

Just take the explosion of the number of earthquakes around the world. According to a recent report on TV, from the first coming of Jesus to the year 1600, it was recorded that there was 1-2 earthquakes once in every 300 years. Then in the year 1600 there was 1. In 1800 it rose to 28, then to 128 in the year 1900, and then so many by the year 2000 that they have lost count. The Boxing Day Tsunami earthquake was the biggest ever recorded. The list of diseases, famines, natural disasters, wars and others have increased like never ever recorded in history.

Certainly the world is having contractions in very close succession just as a mother before she is about to deliver her baby. I believe Jesus is coming very, very soon. The BIG question is, “are you ready to meet Him face to face?” The Bible states that your very own will betray you and you will be persecuted because of your stand for Jesus and His return. By the way, this is before the rapture.

I believe God during this time of persecution will separate the true church (bride of Christ) from the false church. I want to challenge you to pray in the Holy Spirit, read the Word of God, and prepare to face the challenging season ahead of us. Do not wait till it happens, because it might be too late and you might deny Jesus. The Bible says, during this time even His very elect will grow cold and fall away from the faith.

God’s future plans will ultimately come to pass, but unfortunately I believe it will be through a season of severe persecution. ARE YOU READY???

Some might simply laugh this off. Some may mock, possibly because they are very worried about their own reputation, building their own empires, and seeking glory amongst man.  God have mercy on them. As for me, I do not look for reputation from man but rather for the crown that awaits me in heaven!

New poll finds only 33 percent of Americans favor, a 9-point drop since April

The number of Americans who support same-sex marriage has plunged over the last few months, according to a new poll.

The CBS News/New York Times study found that 33 percent of respondents favor same-sex marriage. That represents a 9 percent drop since April.

Everett Rice, legislative coordinator for the California Family Council, said he has a theory about the decrease.

“People really recognize their core and their values, their heritage,” he said. “When people want to go in and redefine that, it really goes against everybody’s individual cultural understanding.”

California has been the site of many protests, some violent, since voters passed Proposition 8 in November. The measure defines marriage in the state Constitution as solely the union of one man and one woman – and has been met with outrage by many gay activists.

Gary Schneeberger, vice president of media and public relations for Focus on the Family Action, said the new poll numbers could very well represent a backlash from Americans who have seen several New England states legalize gay marriage through their legislatures, not the vote of the people.

The poll results also seem to indicate people are not relying solely on the mainstream news media to get their information on the issue of same-sex marriage.

“In reporting the results of its own poll, CBS used the word ‘dip’ to describe the 9 percent plunge in support for gay marriage,” Schneeberger said. “In elections, it’s considered a landslide when a candidate wins by 10 points. So to describe this as a ‘dip’ pretty clearly illustrates where CBS, at least, stands on this issue.”

Pentecostals on the tsunami-ravaged coast of Indonesia are experiencing a wave of conversions and healings.

In the strongly Muslim Aceh province of northern Sumatra—where 167,000 people died in the 2004 tsunami—the underground church movement is growing, with Pentecostal congregations thriving.

Indonesia has an official policy of religious tolerance, but in Muslim-dominated areas Christians face open hostility and persecution. In Aceh province, churches must register with the authorities and are not permitted to evangelize. Many Christians choose to meet in unregistered—or underground—churches.

Sumatra is one of the least evangelized places on earth, according to Operation World. But since the tsunami—which wiped out 15 percent of the population of Aceh’s provincial capital Banda Aceh—numerous underground churches have put down roots.

Pastor Nico (full name withheld for security reasons) started an underground Pentecostal church four years ago with only six members. Today 90 people from the neighborhood make up the Spirit-filled congregation. They endure persecution for their faith. One church family had rocks thrown through the windows of their home, and another family was forced to relocate because of threats.

“It’s very difficult for the Muslims to accept us here,” the 34-year-old pastor told Charisma. “If the authorities knew where we meet, they would close us down.”
Despite the risks, the congregation is mission minded. “We’d like to go to the homes in this area, to the marketplace, to share about Jesus and start another church,” Pastor Nico explained. “We love God, but we also have to love people—even those who don’t love us.”

One of the church members, Novi (full name withheld), grew up in a Buddhist home, burning offerings of money and incense at her family shrine. Two years ago, a traumatic experience set the 24-year-old Novi on a spiritual quest that led to healing and faith in Christ.

Whenever Novi was close to her husband, she felt a peculiar sensation, which she described as worms wriggling under her skin. “You could actually see something moving under the skin,” recalled her husband Fumin.

Deeply distressed, the couple sought help from various sources, including witchdoctors, traditional healers and their Buddhist idols. But Novi’s condition worsened, leaving her on the verge of a breakdown. “I thought: ‘I’m going to go crazy and die,”‘ she recalled. “I couldn’t sleep. … I felt an overwhelming sense of fear.”

Novi became convinced the affliction was a spiritual attack. A relative suggested the couple cross the sea in order to “leave the evil behind.” In desperation, they flew to another island, but the attacks intensified.

At her wit’s end, Novi listened to her sister who had become a Christian. “My sister told me that I should go to the Highest Power for healing—that is, Jesus,” Novi told Charisma. “I thought: If Jesus can heal me, I will follow Him forever.”

As they prayed together in Jesus’ name, Novi felt a “cleansing surge” through her body. A few days later, she felt another attack and cried out to Jesus. Since then, she has never suffered a recurrence. Now her husband is a leader in the church, and their testimony has drawn others to Christ, including his parents, brother and sister-in-law.

The new converts in Aceh’s growing underground church include former Muslims like Ernawati (full name withheld). As a little girl growing up in a devoutly Muslim home, Ernawati visited the mosque with her parents and knelt to pray five times a day.

However, she often asked herself: Who is God? Does He really hear my prayers? Her curiosity grew when she saw the crucifixion scene on The Jesus Film, an evangelistic movie produced by Campus Crusade for Christ. “I wanted to know more about this Jesus,” she said.

Shortly before Christmas 2004, 30-year-old Ernawati was at home when a man wearing a white robe appeared and said to her: “Do not be afraid.”
“Naturally, I was very afraid,” Ernawati recalled. “I didn’t know who he was … and then he disappeared.”

Just days later, the tsunami struck. Submerged by the wave, Ernawati cried out: “Jesus … save me!” Although she could not swim, she suddenly found herself above water and scrambled to safety.

Thousands drowned that day but she was one of the miraculous survivors. Ernawati gave her life to Jesus and joined the underground church. “Now I know the Truth, and the Truth has set me free,” she testifies. -

You know - you wake up on a Monday Morning or Whatever morning thinking, “Perhaps today Barack Obama will start getting it right.” “Perhaps our Nation will become a righteous nation once again”. “Perhaps… was that a white bunny I seen running down that hole? Alice? Wonderland?”

Change has certainly come to Baghdad and it involves the U.S. Embassy there. you see, they have decided this year to hold the first-ever “U.S. Embassy Gay Pride Theme Party” next Friday at Baghdaddy’s, which is the embassy employee association’s pub. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Wait! Let me read on.

“Come celebrate the start of Summer with color . . . and in costume!” the May 10 invitation says. “Dress in drag or as a gay icon. All are welcome.” The invitation was attached to what was called an “All Hands Alerts” e-mail.

An embassy spokesman said by way of explanation: “This is an event organized and sponsored by a group of employees. Given the lack of places to meet in Baghdad, the embassy allows groups to use its social facilities for events on a first-come, first-served basis.”

NO WAIT!!! THERE’S MORE!!!
The invitation says, “Prizes will be awarded for two contests: Best Dressed Gay Icon and Best Lip Synch Performance.” Unclear what the prizes are, but don’t forget to “order costume supplies now in time for May 29th,” we’re told. “For more info and costume ideas, check out the next edition of The Tigris Times.”

I don’t know… Am I missing something here? The GAY lifestyle is probably one of the MOST OFFENSIVE LIFESTYLES THERE IS TO THE MUSLIM FAITH and IRAQ is predominantly MUSLIM and it is equally disturbing to all of the Other faiths there - let alone those who are not of any faith… YET THE PARTY’S ON!

COME ON! We’re going to give a GAY PRIDE PARTY AT THE US EMBASSY but we have to BURN BIBLES BECAUSE THEY’RE OFFENSIVE TO THE MUSLIMS?

The plot thickens as the explanation concerning the Bibles is that the Christian group of soldiers there in Afghanistan who had these Bibles sent to them in the language of the area they were worshiping and holding church services in - not pushing their faith on anyone but having the Bibles handy in case someone of that area would inquire as to their joy and their faith… and the U.S. Government considered that the PRESENCE of God’s WORD - Especially in the language of the People of that community would be misconstrued as proselytizing so they were given the order to burn them. The Military Spokesperson said, “Well that is a policy of the US MILITARY that since they couldn’t hand out those Bibles which were not government issue anyway… they were considered to be trash and when the military moves out they are instructed to burn their trash. There was a consideration to send them back to the church group that sent them - however being that the church group was of the “evangelical” persuasion, the military decided the church group would probably just turn around and send them back - so they were given the order to BURN THEM!

I NEVER THOUGHT IN MY LIFETIME I WOULD BE DELIVERING SUCH A REPORT! You can be sure I will be following up on this article in the near future.

We need to pray for our men in uniform. We cannot expect to win in battle when the VERY WORD OF GOD - NO MATTER WHAT LANGUAGE IS BEING BURNED! GOD HELP US!!!

More to come. Until then… look up my friends because, quite frankly I don’t know how even Jesus can take much more. I guess it’s because He’s God and He sees the ending that I don’t see. I am glad however, that I know He’s coming soon because He said He was… and they can burn every Bible in the WORLD and it won’t change that Fact! God bless you.

According to a report by the Liberty Counsel, nearly 400 students at Pace High School participated in an impromptu recitation of the Lord’s Prayer during their graduation on Saturday.

The students were reportedly taking a stand against being denied the right to pray after a decree which “bans all Santa Rosa County School District employees from engaging in prayer or religious activities.” The decree was issued after a lawsuit was filed by the ACLU.

Some of the students had also painted a cross on the top of their graduation caps.

Matt Staver, of the Liberty Counsel, commented on the event saying, “Neither students nor teachers shed their constitutional rights at the schoolhouse gate. The students at Pace High School refused to remain silent…”

“Christians are called to serve and lead in politics and government – and prayer is where we need to start. With the Bible, prayer needs to be shaping and guiding our words and actions as we obey the call to disciple the nations for Christ.”

(United Kingdom)—As part of the annual Week of Prayer for Parliament and Whitehall—which has the support of MPs and Peers from each of the major political parties—Inspire Magazine reports that many churches around the UK and across the world will be praying through the nights and even through the entire week.

To facilitate the prayer, a simple prayer resource pack has been produced to help Christians pray effectively for their governmental leaders. According to the report, the resources provide inspiration and opportunity for Christians to get involved and be creative in praying for politics, regardless of political viewpoints.

“Christians in Parliament are hugely grateful for the prayers of Christians across the country. I trust that these prayer resources will help you to pray in an informed and relevant way, and that together we can make a positive contribution to seeing our nation blessed and healed”, said Andrew Selous, MP for South West Bedfordshire.

Andy Reed, MP for Loughborough, said not to underestimate the power of prayer: “Christians are called to serve and lead in politics and government—and prayer is where we need to start. “I knew I wasn’t going to preach sermons, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to share openly about my faith, but you don’t necessarily preach to empty tummies. You fill tummies, and you show the love of Jesus through what you do. And after that comes those opportunities.”

One of the most popular Christian bands today is Casting Crowns. Recently, CBN News caught up with frontman Mark Hall, to talk about his recent trips into North Korea, where the band was invited to perform.

The invitation came through the NGO Global Resource Services (GRS), which works inside the country helping with food distribution, agriculture, children and families.

According to Hall, every other year the Friendship Arts Festival is held in Pyongyang where artists from around the world are invited to perform—not normally from America. But God “opened the doors” for Casting Crowns to not only go, but to perform their songs each containing a strong Christian message.

Hall said, “They had our lyrics, they had our music—if you’ve listened to our songs [the Christianity] is not exactly hidden—and they invited us anyway.”

Hall talked about how he feels about North Korea in light of recent events including multiple missile launches and the recent arrest of two US journalists.

“For me, my prayers are really more about the people,” he explained. “I’ve gotten asked questions like, ‘How could you go to a country where all these terrible things are happening?’ And all I could think was, ‘How could you not go…?’ It’s one thing to be over here and be angry about it; it’s another thing to go over with a group that’s actually doing something about it.

“I knew I wasn’t going to preach sermons, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to share openly about my faith, but you don’t necessarily preach to empty tummies. You fill tummies, and you show the love of Jesus through what you do. And after that comes those opportunities.”

When asked if in preparation to going over to North Korea, the Lord spoke anything to his heart about the country, Hall replied, “Many times. When you first get there, there’s a hopelessness…it’s hard to describe. But we were on the 33rd, 34th floor of our hotel, and the sun was setting… I was looking out the window. I was leaning out the window, praying over the city. Every light I saw inside a building was a family—it wasn’t this dark, ominous country—these were people who need Jesus. (Photo: CBN News)

“It really fills your heart, and at first you feel helpless; like you can’t do anything. But, being a Believer, and knowing how big God is, I just know that I’m doing my part and I’m doing what God’s called me to do. That’s all we can do. We lay our burdens at His feet, and we do what we’re gifted to do—what our calling is. I’m praying that God does a major work there, and I’m glad we got to be part of it.”

Dear Family & Friends in Christ,

It is absolutely exciting to see the devil and his demonic cohorts tremble and scream as the mighty power of Jesus enters the house of God

Yes, this is what we saw last weekend at the Holy Spirit Fire and Healing Meetings in Hallam, Melbourne. Many God seeking people packed the venue on Friday and Sunday once again to soak in the life transforming presence of God, some even travelling all the way from Perth, WA to Catch the Fire!
 
As the anointed worship reached heaven for two consecutive hours, many were absolutely smacked by the weighty presence of God, like a steam roller of the Holy Spirit! Pas Danny prayed before the meeting, “Holy Spirit please come and mess us up!” Well, certainly that’s what happened as people could not stand on their feet and were laying all over the altar under the manifest glory of God!

During worship Pas Danny started laying hands on people who had come to the altar to worship the King of kings and LORD of lords.  At this point suddenly an increased manifestation of the awesome presence of God fell in the place and many demonically tormented Christians started rolling on the ground, screaming “leave us alone, leave us alone!” We knew at once that the demonic spirits inside of them were feeling the burning fire of the holy presence of God! At least four people were delivered from demonic spirits, including one man who starting vomiting blood as the demons left him in the victorious Name of Jesus!

Interestingly enough all of them were born-again Christians attending different churches across Melbourne for a few years. Pas Danny stated, “there is a lot more deliverance, healing, freedom, and victory ministry needed in the body of Christ. We desperately need disciples and not mere believers. I am so glad that people (believers) are getting cleaned up and prepared (disciples) for the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. I plead with all Pastors and Christian leaders, please let go of this user friendly stuff and cry for more of the Holy Spirit’s power and presence! Do not look at the clock but look to the Lord. Please, please do not cut short on the worship and the ministry of the Word. Let His presence freely flow. If some don’t like it, let them go. But go after those who are hungry for more, as the church today needs a breakthrough desperately. We thank God for the continued outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the CTFM meetings and pray that the Lord let it be so all over the nation!”

On Saturday the CTFM worship team of around 30, went out for dinner, some with their spouses. It was a great time of fun and fellowship.  Ryan, the CTFM worship coordinator and Pas Danny thanked the team for their absolute commitment to serve God. It was a great night out.

Today Monday 22nd June is a very special day for us and I’m sure for all freedom loving fellow countrymen in Australia, as it marks 2 years since we won the court case in the Supreme Court of Appeal for Freedom of Speech and Religion after a 5 year battle in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and then the Supreme Court. I’m sure we will celebrate this monumental day for years to come in remembrance of the victory against a bad piece of legislation which almost took away our rights to declare Jesus as the only way to the Father in heaven!

On a personal note, it’s also a special day that brought great joy to our family as the Lord blessed my wife and I with our 3rd child who turns 2 years old today!  So every year at her birthday we will give God the glory for helping us stand our ground for His righteousness and justice in our nation of Australia to see this great victory for the Kingdom of God!

I want to take this opportunity along with my family, the CTFM board and leadership team, to say a ‘BIG THANK YOU’ to all who faithfully stood with us shoulder to shoulder, even some who were willing to go to jail with me for not compromising the truth of the Word of God! Thank you so much for your Christ-like love, prayer, financial (to pay around $ 600,000 in court charges) and moral support, including hundreds of text messages, phone calls and emails from around the nation and across the world. We feel like God has linked us with the Body of Christ across the nations as thousands and thousands of people receive the prophetic Word of God every day via our website. All Glory to God. (Indonesia)—Gospel Herald reports that on May 14-16, when Asia for Jesus Indonesia, a three-day evangelistic crusade, reached out to over 60,000 people with the Gospel, 4,158 came to Christ, and 1,252 were baptized.

The event was hosted by Rev. Jusuf Soetanto, head of Gereja Mawar Sharon denomination and senior pastor of Mawar Sharon Church, and featured praise and worship performances by Taiwanese Christian artists Sien Vanessa, Vanness Wu, and Joshua Band.

Sien Vanessa said, “Two hours prior to the event opening, it was raining cats and dogs. All of the dancers, musicians in the backstage all knelt down to pray and miraculously the rain stopped within ten minutes.”

Dear Mr. President,

You face difficult challenges in matters such as achieving peace in the Middle East and protecting America from the threat of radical Islam and terrorism. These are challenges that have vexed past presidents, going as far back as our second president, John Adams. I have no doubt you appreciate both the gravity of these challenges and the enormous obstacles that exist to solving them.

I also have no doubt that you and your staff understood that, no matter what you said in your speech last Thursday in Cairo, there would be those who would take issue with you. That is always the case when attempting to solve problems that are as deep and emotionally-laden as these challenges are.

I am assuming it is your sincere hope that the approach you have chosen to take, as evidenced by what I’m sure was a carefully crafted speech, will ultimately prove successful. However, it pains me to say this sir, but, while you said in your speech that you are a “student of history,” it is abundantly clear that, in these matters, you do not know history and thus, as Santayana noted, you are doomed to repeat it. In doing so your efforts, however well-intentioned they may be, will not produce what you profess to hope they will produce.

A wise man once said that if you start with the wrong assumptions, no matter how logical your reasoning is, you will end up with the wrong conclusion. With all due respect Mr. President, you are starting with certain assumptions that are unsupported by history and an objective study of the ideology of political Islam.

You began in your speech by asserting that “tensions” exist between the United States and Muslims around the world, which, of course, is correct. Unfortunately, you then proceeded, incorrectly, to lay virtually all the blame for these tensions at the feet of America and the West. You blamed western colonialism, the Cold War, and even modernity and globalism.

A student of American history, who is not trying to reconstruct it to fit a modern politically correct narrative, would state that tensions between America and Muslims began with the unprovoked, four-decades long assault by the Muslim Barbary pirates against American shipping in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. I find it telling that you mentioned the Treaty of Tripoli in your speech but ignored the circumstances that led to it. That treaty was but one of numerous attempts by the United States to achieve peace with the jihadists of the Barbary Coast who were attacking our shipping and killing and enslaving our citizens and our soldiers – and who by their own admission were doing so to fulfill the call to jihad.

These jihadists were not acting to protest American foreign policy, which was decidedly isolationist, and there was no state of Israel to scapegoat. They were doing what countless Islamic jihadists have done throughout history – acting upon the hundreds of passages in the Qur’an and the Hadith that call upon faithful Muslims to kill, conquer or subjugate the infidel.

A student of world history would know that, for all the acknowledged evils of Western colonialism, these evils pale in comparison to the nearly 14 centuries of Islamic colonialism that began in Arabia under the leadership of Mohammed. The student of history would know that Islamic forces eradicated all Jewish and Christian presence from Arabia after Mohammed’s death, and then succeeded in conquering all of North Africa, most of the Middle East, much of Asia Minor, and significant portions of Europe and India – eventually creating an empire larger than Rome’s was at its peak.

The number of dead and enslaved during these many centuries of Islamic imperial conquest and colonialism have been estimated to total more than 300 million. What’s more, the wealth of many of the conquered nations and cultures was plundered by the Islamic conquerors, and millions of millions of non-Muslims who did survive were forced to pay onerous taxes, such as the “jizya,” a humiliation tax to the Islamic caliphs. Indeed, in some areas Christians and Jews were made to wear a receipt for the jizya around their neck as a mark of their dishonor.

These facts have not been invented by Christian or Jewish historical revisionists, but were chronicled by Muslim eyewitnesses throughout the past 14 centuries and are available to be researched by any person seeking an objective understanding of how Islam spread throughout the world.

You say in your speech that we must squarely face the tensions that exist between America and the Muslim world. That is a laudable notion with which I agree, but by casting Islam as the historical victim and the West (and by implication, America) as the aggressor, you do not face these tensions squarely, but alleviate the Muslim world from coming to grips with the jihadist ideology embedded in its holy books and acted upon for 1,400 years.

Even worse, you empower and embolden militant Islamists who regard your gestures as signs of weakness and capitulation.

The issue is not that all Muslims are terrorists or radicals or extremists. We all know that the majority of Muslims are not. We also know that many peace-loving Muslims are victims of Islamist violence.

The issue is this: what drives hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide to call for the death of Jews?

What drives millions of Muslims to riot, destroy property, and take innocent lives in reaction to the Danish cartoons?

What drives tens of thousands of Muslims to demand the execution of a British teacher whose only “crime” was allowing her students to name their teddy bears “Mohammed”?

What drives countless Muslims worldwide to actively participate in, or fund, or provide nurture to, terrorist organizations?

What drives Muslims in mosques in America to proclaim and distribute materials that call for hatred of and the destruction of infidels?

What drives entire Islamic countries to prohibit the building of a Christian church or synagogue?

To assume, as you apparently do, that what drives these actions is not an ideology embedded in the holy books of Islam, but rather other “root causes,” most of which you lay at the feet of America and the West, is at best naïve and at worst dangerous.

Lastly, I must address your statement that “Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance.” Unfortunately, the examples you gave are the exception rather than the rule.

Historically speaking, I seriously doubt the Egyptian Copts, the Lebanese Maronites, the Christians in Bethlehem, the Assyrians, the Hindus, the Jews, and many others who have been persecuted by Islamic violence and supremacism, would agree with your assertion.

For instance, Christians and Jews became “Dhimmis,” a second class group under Islam. Dhimmis were forced to wear distinctive clothing; it was Baghdad’s Caliph Al-Mutawakkil, in the ninth century, who designated a yellow badge for Jews under Islam, which Hitler copied and duplicated in Nazi Germany nearly a thousand years later.

I witnessed first-hand the “tolerance” of Islam when Islamists ravaged my country of birth, Lebanon, in the 1970’s, leaving widespread death and destruction in their wake. I saw how they re-paid the tolerance that Lebanese Christians extended toward them. My experience is not an isolated one. When you make an unfounded assertion about the “proud tradition” of tolerance in Islam, you do a great disservice to the hundreds of millions of non-Muslims who have been killed, maimed, enslaved, conquered, subjugated or displaced – in the cause of Islamic jihad.

Mr. President, those of us like me who are ringing the alarm in America about the threat of radical Islam would like nothing better than to peacefully co-exist with the Muslim world. Most Americans would like nothing better than to peacefully co-exist with the Muslim world. The obstacle to achieving this does not lie with us in America and the West. It lies with the hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide, including many of their spiritual leaders, who take seriously the repeated calls to jihad in the Qur’an and the Hadith. Who regard “infidels” as inferior and worthy of conquering, subjugating and forcibly converting. Who support “cultural jihad” as a means to subvert non-Muslim societies from within. Who take seriously the admonitions throughout the Qur’an and the Hadith to convert the world to Islam – by force if necessary – and bring it under the rule of Allah.

Unless you are willing to courageously and honestly accept this, your aspirations for worldwide comity and peace in the Middle East are doomed to fail.

Curiously, Obama did not hold a full-dress press conference following their summit, which focused on Iran. Was this because he feared Netanyahu might use the opportunity to appeal to Israel’s strongest base in America – some 52 million Bible-believing Evangelical Christian Zionists?

The Obama government is trying to make things move in the Middle East and there are fears this will come at Israel’s expense – even if it means bringing down Netanyahu’s government.

Obama has embarked on a peace crusade. He has invited Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to Washington. Next month Obama will speak from a podium in Cairo in an effort to restore America’s image in the Muslim world. He apparently believes this cannot happen or peace be achieved until Israel accepts a Palestinian state.

Last week the United States voted for a UN Security Council resolution reaffirming support for a two-state solution. Ambassador Susan Rice said the US wants to integrate the Saudi-sponsored peace initiative into the process.

It would be absurd for Obama to think that Netanyahu – who went into politics inspired by the heroic death of his brother, Yonatan, in freeing terrorist hostages in the 1976 Entebbe rescue mission – would ever reward an Iranian-funded terrorist regime by redividing Jerusalem. He would never shrink Israel as a goodwill gesture to help restart the so-called peace process, not in the absence of a genuine goodwill gesture by the Palestinian and Muslim world of recognizing Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state.

Netanyahu wants the US to reaffirm its support for Israel’s right to self-defense against the looming threat from Iran. During the last three years Israel fought two bitter campaigns to halt the bombardment of its civilian population by thousands of terrorist missiles – fired by the Iranian terrorist proxies Hizbullah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. Meanwhile, Iran denies the Holocaust while threatening to wipe the Jewish state off the map, as it develops nuclear weapons and tests long-range ballistic missiles. America has become a morally bankrupt society that embraces intolerance against Christians, including a new push for “hate crimes” legislation, according to one pastor who believes it’s all because church leaders have failed to do their jobs.
But this Memorial Day weekend he is calling ministers to fight for those freedoms – from their pulpits.
 
“Pastors, if you wonder who is to blame for America’s slide from the ‘Ozzie and Harriet’ morality of yesteryear to the ‘Brokeback Mountain’ immorality of today, look in the mirror,” said Pastor Paul Blair of Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, Okla.
 
Blair is founder of a group called Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ, an outreach to pastors that encourages church leaders  to take a stand against the spread of immorality in American culture. He is urging pastors across the nation to stop being silent and muster the courage to speak out against efforts to criminalize Christianity. He said church leaders have abandoned the prophetic call and have chosen instead to be CEOs of competitive church businesses rather than proclaiming “faith in Christ alone and repentance from sin.”
 
“Pastors used to speak strongly about issues – like when Billy Sunday led a crusade, and the next thing you know, liquor was outlawed. So they made a difference,” he said. “The year 1954 is when pastors began to grow timid because, all of the sudden, they had this misguided notion that they might lose their tax exemption if they made too much noise.”
Shortly after ministers grew silent, prayer and Bible reading were taken out of schools. The sexual revolution immediately followed, along with Roe v. Wade. Now, he said, attacks on Christian liberty and morality have become more brazen and coordinated than ever – with widespread movements to legalize homosexual marriage, the Department of Homeland Security’s efforts to profile Christians as “potential terrorists” and strategies to silence pastors through hate crimes legislation.

A hearing on the act, already approved by the U.S. House as H.R. 1913 and pending in the Senate as S. 909, is expected in the Senate Judiciary Committee soon.
 
Under a comparable law in Sweden, a minister was sentenced to 30 days in jail for preaching from Leviticus. Similar state laws have resulted in similar results. In Philadelphia several years ago, a 73-year-old grandmother was reported to have been jailed for trying to share Christian tracts with people at a homosexual festival.
 
WND columnist Dave Welch, founder and executive director of the U.S. Pastor Council and Houston Area Pastor Council, has warned, “Hate crimes legislation, which assigns different levels of punishment for the same crime, is a perversion of equal justice on its face. Compound that injustice by criminalizing the preaching of Scripture as “hate speech” and therefore evil, while protecting unimaginable and abominable sexual behaviors as good, and we are building a perfect storm for national calamity.”
 
Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of letters have been dispatched to members of the U.S. Senate suggesting that the bill is the wrong way for the country to move. WND columnist Janet Porter, who also heads the Faith2Action Christian ministry, launched the campaign to send thousands of letters to every senator by overnight delivery.
 
To date, at least 4,500 people have participated, dispatching 450,000 letters to members of the Senate.
 
But now Blair is stepping up the effort by calling on “patriot pastors” to lead their congregations in three areas: 1) evangelizing and leading people to Christ to change the culture 2) educating people about the truth of America’s Christian heritage and real threats like the Hate Crimes Prevention Act and 3) contacting elected representatives by writing letters and participating in petition drives.
 
His church is planning a special Memorial Day weekend sermon where he will bring in a 150-foot crane to fly the American flag as he warns his congregation of attacks on freedom.
“We absolutely will be addressing the fact that freedom isn’t free,” he said. “We’ll talk about the great sacrifice that was paid for the liberty we enjoy and how there are attacks on that liberty not just abroad, but here at home.”
 
Ministers should never underestimate their roles in preserving America’s freedom, Blair said. According to President John Adams, colonial pastors were the single group most responsible for America’s independence.
 
“They were the best educated of citizens, understood the precious value of liberty from tyranny and taught their congregations a true biblical worldview,” he said. “As Pastor John Witherspoon, a signer of the Declaration and member of Congress, recognized, ‘There is not a single instance in history, in which civil liberty was lost, and religious liberty preserved.’”
Patriot pastors led in the great spiritual revival of the 18th century known as the Great Awakening, Blair noted. And patriot pastors educated their communities and led them in the fight for liberty in America.
 
“Thank God that our patriot pastors of yesteryear weren’t trained with a modern seminary education,” he said.
Representatives told Blair if they get five calls on a particular issue, they take notice. So, he would like to see what would happen if hundreds or thousands of people called lawmakers.
 
“Just think, if pastors would get up on their pulpits and teach folks about how the issues of today are going to affect them and then lead them, we can make a difference,” he said. “The problem is we don’t hear the truth. We don’t hear it in the media, we don’t hear it in schools and our pastors have been taught to remain silent.”
But Blair said he intends to change that.
 
“Brethren, it’s our turn,” he said. “As we reflect this Memorial Day weekend on the great price paid for the liberty that we enjoy, let us not lose that same liberty on our watch. Join with a group of patriot pastors across our nation and teach your flock about this dangerous hate crimes legislation and lead them in combating this brazen effort to criminalize Christianity in America.”

The outcome of the weekend ministry of God’s presence was awesome…

At Hallam on the Friday following glorious worship, a video presentation of ‘The Unveiling of the Man of Sin’ (part 2) was very well received, inspiring and challenging those present to further prepare for the soon coming of the Bridegroom King Jesus!
 
On the Sunday the healing restoring presence of God drew people to meet with Him and many testimonies of healing and provision came quickly and easily as God was given the glory for the great things He has done! The Word of God was preached by Sister Lea from India with Holy Spirit impartation following, as many lives were impacted and changed by the power of God!
 
In Bega churches combined together plus many travelling from Merrimbula, Pambula, and Moruya to hear the Word of the Lord released with displays of God’s goodness following! One such example was a woman who attended the morning service who was active in witchcraft (into taro cards) got touched mightily by God and received delieverence. She rededicated her life under the Lordship of Jesus. In the afternoon she distroyed the alters of witchcraft and burned her taro cards. She brought along a friend to the evening meeting who gave her life to Jesus and both are now walking in Kingdom Light!

Twenty months ago many in Merimbula and Pambula joined to host Pastor Danny at a meeting.  As he was ministering the Lord gave him a word of knowledge that there was a young pregnant woman in the crowd who was contemplating an abortion and that it was God’s will that she keep the baby as gift from Him. This young lady who was only two months pregnant came sobbing to the altar along with her mother, the only other person to know that she was pregnant. She was mightily touched by the Spirit of the Lord resulting in a beautiful baby girl being born 7 months later! What a delight for Pastor Danny to meet up again with this mother and her 13 month old girl. How she thanked Pastor Danny for his obedience in giving the word from the Lord that meant she now has a precious little one to care for and love! We thank God for His beautiful presence – which released so many from demonic oppression and possession – these are now free to draw from and receive more of their Saviour and Lord! A man testified of being healed by the Lord from dizziness he had had for some time. He had previously made a journey to Hallam and received from the Lord what was needed for his complete healing. Now these many months later he was able to encourage those gathered to reach out to the Lord. Some of the pastors and spouses who attended the meetings were greatly touched by the Lord and shared with Pastor Danny that they sensed a new release of God’s presence & anointing which would pervade over the region around Bega!

Although President Obama did not host a National Day of Prayer observance, two African-American ministers prayed outside the White House today, even though it led to their arrest.
The Rev. Johnny Hunter and the Rev. Stephen Broden, both longtime pro-life activists, were taken into custody briefly after holding a “prayer picket” outside the White House to publicly oppose the president’s decision not to participate in the National Day of Prayer (NDOP). They were released after just a few hours.

“[It’s] the National Day of Prayer, and the president refuses to participate in it?” said Hunter, who leads the Life Education and Resource Networks (LEARN) in Fayetteville, N.C. “Before at least presidents were nice enough to open their doors and let some Christians come in and pray. … Not this one. So since he wouldn’t do it, we took the prayer to him.”

The ministers said they knew they were risking arrest but held signs saying: “Jesus Christ Is Our Lord and Savior. BHO is not” to protest what they see as a dangerous trend toward broader abortion access and acceptance of homosexuality that has occurred under the Obama administration.

“We believe this republic is under great duress right now and stress, and we believe prayer is the means by which we can change things here in America and in this government,” said Broden, pastor of Fair Park Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas.

“We prayed that God would either stay the hand of judgment or quicken the hearts of men and women of faith for them to recognize that they need to come to the streets, they need to come to the public square and make it clear that we are not in favor of same-sex marriage, we are not in favor of this scourge … [of abortion], we are not in favor of the kind of trickery and gamesmanships that are being played in the house of Congress and the house of the Senate. We are fed up, and we are tired of what this nation is doing and what our leaders are doing relative to their role and responsibility for protecting our freedoms.”

The ministers joined some 2 million Christians, who met in at least 40,000 venues nationwide to pray for the U.S. A national service was held this morning in Washington, D.C., led by NDOP Task Force Chairman Shirley Dobson, Focus on the Family founder James Dobson and Bible teacher Beth Moore.

The event was broadcast live on GOD TV, Sky Angel and at the NDOP Task Force Web site. It will re-air at 7:30 p.m. PDT during another prayer event in Los Angeles.

“The fact that up to 50,000 communities will have public observances of prayer is strategically very important because it points to the awakening of the believing body of Christ that is going on,” said Gary Bergel, president emeritus/editor of Intercessors for America in Washington, D.C.

“That’s what we know we’re laboring for, the restoration of the church as the ongoing daily house of prayer for all people. … Not only for all men and women to come to know freedom and redemption through Jesus Christ but all in authority, all heads of state, that we could live quiet, peaceable, worshipful, enterprising, free lives here”

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama would pray privately on the NDOP. The president also issued a proclamation recognizing the day and calling on Americans to “to pray in thanksgiving” for the nation’s freedoms and blessings and “to ask for God’s continued guidance, grace, and protection for this land that we love.” (Read President Obama’s proclamation.)

Christian leaders widely decried Obama’s decision to break from President George W. Bush tradition of holding an official observance.

“We are disappointed in the lack of participation by the Obama administration,” Shirley Dobson said. “At this time in our country’s history, we would hope our president would recognize more fully the importance of prayer.”

In addition to praying for the nation, faith leaders and members of Congress were to hold a bipartisan press conference today to affirm America’s Christian heritage.

“America was birthed in a prayer meeting led by our Founding Fathers,” said Mathew D. Staver, founder of the law firm Liberty Counsel and dean of the Liberty University School of Law.

“After dissention arose among the Revolutionary leaders about the proper form of government, and when all hope seemed lost, Benjamin Franklin arose and said: ‘Have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance?’ The Founders convened a three-day prayer meeting and America was born.”

Twenty-four members of Congress were to join Staver at the press briefing, including Rep. J. Randy Forbes, R-Va., who on Monday introduced the America’s Spiritual Heritage Resolution to recognize the role prayer played in the nation’s history. The measure also calls on Congress to designate the first week in May as “American Religious History Week.”

The legislation and the press conference are aimed at countering Obama’s recent statement that Americans “do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”

“The United States Supreme Court has acknowledged that America is a ‘Christian nation,’ that we are a ‘religious people,’ and that our ‘institutions presuppose a Supreme Being,’” Staver said in a statement. “Yes, Mr. President, America was born on a Christian and Judeo foundation. At critical times like these, we ought to heed the words of Benjamin Franklin and humbly ask almighty God to bless America.”

Last week, prayer leaders Cindy Jacobs and Dutch Sheets called on Christians to help “turn the nation back to God” by praying on April 30. On that day in 1863, during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation calling the nation to humble itself “before the offended Power,” to confess its national sins and to pray for “clemency and forgiveness.”

The prayer effort was to continue through the NDOP, when intercessors were asked to intensify their prayers for national healing and renewal.

“Let’s come into agreement with what President Lincoln said and let’s make a statement to this nation, to the spiritual powers that are trying to steal from us our Christian heritage, and let’s say: ‘The war isn’t over. We are not going to give this nation away, and the culture war isn’t over,’” said Sheets, pastor of Springs Harvest Fellowship in Colorado Springs, Colo. “God is going to help us reform this nation. We are going to get it done.”

This year is the 58th annual NDOP, which President Harry Truman signed into law in 1952 after the Rev. Billy Graham led a crusade in Washington, D.C. In 1988 President Ronald Reagan set the observances on the first Thursday in May.

In March, the Obama administration asked that a lawsuit claiming the NDOP violated church-state separation be dismissed, the Associated Press reported. The administration argued that the tradition dates back to 1775 and that most presidents have invoked faith in a higher power.
