Australia Day 2008 United Prayer Report
Published by Office 2 January 30th, 2008 in A Call To Action, Australia, Events & Ministries, Miraculous Testimonies, Rise Up Australia
All glory and honor to the King of kings and LORD of lords! We thank our wonderful Savior for His mighty Presence at the Australia Day United Prayer gathering in Melbourne!
From all walks of life, many different churches and denominations, approximately 1500 Christian Aussies with a burning heart to see their nation transformed, streamed into Festival Hall with Australian flags as
the gates opened at 10am on Saturday 26th January. People travelled from Perth (WA), Gold Coast (QLD), Maitland (NSW), Sydney (NSW), Mildura (VIC), throughout Country Victoria, and many other places across the nation. Many passionate worshipping and praying people of God had arrived one hour before the prayer meeting began! Click here for more photos and the report of this history making prayer event -
The dynamic Islander praise and worship team from Victory Life Centre opened up the heavens for a mighty visitation from the Holy Spirit of God! With the shofars blowing, people clapping and singing, the spiritual atmosphere erupted into absolutely awesome praise and glorious rejoicing in the manifest presence of the Lord!
Some 15+ Denominational and Ministry Leaders took their place on stage, along with the Samoan choir and anointed musicians, to join with the crowd as the Body of Christ to prayerfully thank our Father in Heaven for our beautiful nation of Australia. The Christian Leaders of different denominations and ministries led corporate prayer with great passion and enthusiasm while demonstrating a tremendous sense of unity and love for each other and the nation. They sought the face and heart of God for His Kingdom come and will be done regarding our
newly elected Government, Armed Forces, Farming Communities (more Rain), unity of the Church, Marketplace (Business sector), and the Media. Many of them told Pastor Danny that he should have more corporate prayer gatherings like this to unite the Body of Christ in Australia for Jesus!
The ‘CALL’ prayer movement and the prophetic worship team from Hope Generation Church led a special part of the prayer meeting until the service finished, as the generations united to pray for the youth / young adults of our nation. As on-fire young men and women burst into spontaneous prayer, repentance, weeping and prophetic proclamation in the Spirit of the Lord, the crowd was moved to tears to see the youth / young adults rise up to take a stand for a Jesus revolution!
Pastor Danny interviewed Pastor Bill, the man who was snatched from the clutches of death and brought back to life at the National Prayer Call in Parliament Canberra on the 22nd October 2007. His
supernatural testimony of his heavenly encounter with Jesus when his spirit left his body for 20 minutes was absolutely amazing. This must hear testimony is available on DVD from Catch the Fire Ministries office. Following is a quote from his testimony, “My spirit left my body and started going up, I looked down and everything was so gloomy. Then I entered a place which was so beautiful. I saw a really beautiful church that looked really great. But then I heard a voice say, ‘Look at the foundation.’ As I looked at the foundation, it was built on sand. The voice came back and said, ‘It’s not time for you, go back and tell My Church to build on the ROCK.’”
Pastor Danny stated ‘It’s certainly a wakeup call for the Church of Jesus Christ. I pray that we as Bible-believing God-fearing Christians will take this seriously and do something about it, particularly with the
recent findings of the Willow Creek Church (Pastor Bill Hybles) in the US regarding the ‘user-friendly / seeker-friendly church growth strategy’ and how it has been a real failure, producing mere church goers rather than real disciples of the Lord and His Kingdom. Consequently, Pastor Hybels and the Willow Creek Leadership acknowledge that thousands of churches in the US and around the world have foundations built on sand, rather than on the ROCK. This is certainly very alarming.’
The Atheist movement of Melbourne had planned to demonstrate at the Australia Day United Prayer gathering, but thank God the prayer meeting flowed smoothly with no interruptions, as only a few showed up! Jesus still loves everyone and prayer definitely works!
Also, it was very encouraging to hear that many people had gathered in their own respective towns across the country to pray for our nation on Australia Day.
We are prayerfully looking forward to the next Australia Day United Prayer gathering in 2009. See you there!
Thank you Danny and company for such a wonderful day at the prayer meeting! The youth were brilliant, I was overwhelmed as they prayed so fervently for what was on their heart. They touched the garment of the Lord with their sincerity. The choir brought us into glory and the testimony of the man who was raised from the dead was thrilling and heartrending. I saw the amount of work that had been put into the day as everything went like clockwork and I met many Christian brothers and sisters I have not seen for ages, so it was a good day all around. Being asked to pray for a young person close to me was also very special and I felt that God touched her. Bless you all and may God continue to use you to bring churches together in an even greater way.

The body of Christ will be strengthened as more Christians come together in a spirit of unity, united to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ higher and higher in this Great Southland of the Holy Spirit. Then the world will know we are His disciples. May His name be lifted up high among all the nations of the world. May His praises be heard throughout this nation of Australia. Well done to Catch the Fire for consistenly showing a message of ‘no compromise’ and for the passion of Pastor Danny and Rise Up Australia generally to sew good seed in this great harvest field.
Blessings,
Sarah
May God richly bless you and your family Danny!! My wife and i have often commented how the Lord raised up someone from another country to come here to rise up the Christians in unity in our country of Australia.
Our prayer also is that God would also rise up men and women of God (including children) to take your mantle that God has given you when The Lord God Almighty says it is time. Australian Christians need to hear this type of Preaching and Teaching from yourself and from Col Stringer who also has such a passion for this great nation of ours.
If only we would all rise up in the power and authority that God has already given to us and establish once again this nation for Christ!
It is no longer a time for apathy, and praise God for sending Danny Nalliah to our shores.
We were told way back in Genisis that WE were to have DOMINION on this earth. Jesus Christs has been equipping us. Let us all step out in faith, get out of our laziness, and listen to what the Holy Spirit is telling us individually to do, as well as corporately.
In love,
Andrew and Cindy.
Dear Pastor Danny and your team,
I just want to thank you for the wonderful National Day of Prayer event at Festival Hall. What an amazing time. There is a thirst in my heart to be able to pray with fellow believers of any denomination and your wonderful team enabled me to be refreshed. You have my support and prayers for the awesome work you do. I’m not a ‘mushy’ bloke, but I wept twice from my heart because the numbers were less than last year. I wept for the people that should have been there. I wept with personal shame when looking at the passion of some of our young people praying for our country when our own church leaders don’t support a national call for prayer. For one day! For one day.
Next year I will be more passionate about raising a team of people to come. My family will be there as we present ourselves unto the Lord.
Colin .
Thank you for that wonderful report on the Prayer Gathering!! Hallelujah! Praise God!
What a wonderful Lord we serve! Blessings forever, Kay
