I'm always astonished, pleasantly so, when I hear reports of our Lord Jesus, or of the Lord Holy Spirit, doing a miracle of some sort...
He does miracles in my life regularly, ever since I was born again, and I feel certain He was there with me doing them before then - I just didn't notice!

The Lord loved us ALL enough to die for us...enduring shame and torture beforehand! Why should it surprise us when He does something to help us, heal us, or deliver us???

I am honored to see this highly educated doctor not only knows his Great Physcian, but allows Him to flow through him for others. We are in an unprescendented time of the miracles and favor of God. We must as believers seek Him like never before for those around us to be saved. I pray that unbelievers will have a spiritual encounter with God and experience His love, grace and awesome power in their lives.

A great example of an extremely educated person steeped in empiricism and unashamed to pronounce what he has seen with his own eyes: the dead raised to life. The unbelievers will ignore the doctor's eyewitness testimony and will cite the fact that they have never witnessed such an event. The believers will point out that an absence of miraculous events in the life of the unbeliever is just a reflection of their life and a result of their failure to admit they are not the font of all power and knowledge in the universe and admit that things can occur outside of their sphere of influence. Twenty-one years ago, I was walking with a group of Christian friends and acquaintances and we saw a rather large and butch lesbian staggering and bleeding from a doorway. We tried to hold her but she fell down dead in a pool of blood. We called an ambulance and in under 90 seconds they arrived (it occurred in the city and there were hospitals within a kilometre). We all prayed for the woman while the paramedics tried to revive her. They tried and tried but eventually gave up. The ten or so Christians did not give up praying and while they were loading this woman's lifeless body into the ambulance her heart began beating again spontaneously. The paramedics saw what occurred. Telling people what I saw with my own eyes usually results in three responses: unbelief from people with a "God complex", confusion from those of an indeterminate or differing belief system and acceptance from other Christians. We all have the same evidence for miracles but everybody chooses what to believe.
