Evangelical Christianity was once found mainly in the West. But no longer. In 1960, there were an estimated 50 million evangelical Christians in the West, and 25 million in the rest of the world; today, there are an estimated 75 million in the West, and 325 million in the rest of the world (representing about 20 percent of the two billion Christians worldwide). God is raising up Christians in the non-Western world to go evangelise in the West. One Third World believer that has been called to Australia to help revive the church is Danny Nalliah. God had spoken to him both in Sri Lanka and in Saudi Arabia that he would have a role to play in preserving religious freedom in Australia and the world. And of course as one of the two pastors involved in Victorias vilification battle (still not over yet), that prophetic word has certainly come to pass.
Because of this bad law, NSW, SA, and WA have all knocked back similar laws. Danny has spoken in Britain, NZ, and the US about such laws. In Britain it has been modified, in NZ, deferred, and in the US, President Bush said he will veto any hate crime legislation. All in small part because of a Third World Christian being faithful to a divine call.
