I am sure everyone of us has asked the above question, “Should the Church be involved in politics?“
The simple answer is YES.
For many years, I was a strong believer, like many Christians, that the Church should not get involved in politics. Unfortunately, I believed in this lie for more than half of my Christian life, as the devil very cleverly deceived me.
But thank God that I had a major paradigm shift, when in Saudi Arabia on 21st July 1997 at 3.40am, Jesus appeared in my house and spoke to me for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Just 40 minutes from Mecca in Saudi Arabia, Jesus very clearly spoke to me with His audible voice and said, “Your time here is over. I am taking you to Australia and you will go into many parliaments and be a voice for the voiceless speaking in My name.”
All details are in my book ‘Worship Under The Sword’.
I realised that the Lord Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”.
In the past 3-4 years I have led more people to Jesus through Rise Up Australia political party than my previous 15 years as the leader of Catch The Fire Ministries in Australia.
It is so important that Christians rise up and take their place in every sphere of influence in society. If not, governments will pass legislations and completely shut down the Church from declaring that “Jesus is the only way to heaven”.
In the recent past, I have been working very closely with the Reclaim Australia groups and I love working with them because most of them are not Christian believers. But glory to God I have been able to share my faith with them and led several of them to Jesus.
Honestly, these guys seem to love Australia more than many of us Christians, because they dare to come out and take a stand for their nations.
I wonder how many Christians are willing to stand in the gap for their nation. You might say, “I will pray”. That is not good enough as prayer and action must go hand in hand.
What has the Church achieved in the west?? We have actually lost a lot of ground, because a lot of the Church is very passive. In the past 10 years, 2000 churches in UK have been turned into mosques.
Many churches in Australia have been also turned into mosques, but still much of the Church is not willing to step out and take a stand.
Only holy hugs in church will not win the nation to Christ. You must reach out to the unreached before it is too late.
Through Rise Up Australia Party I have had the opportunity to speak to large groups of un-churched people and many have responded by giving their hearts to Jesus.
Many people have told me that they don’t want to go to church, but they love Jesus. This is because of much of the Church not being the salt and light in the community.
We must step out of the box now and get involved in government, etc. and be a voice to protect Australia and see her fulfil her God given destiny as the Great South Land Of The Holy Spirit.
