Mike was just a tad confused there on freedom of religion. That’s understandable. I suspect most of us are cloudy on that topic. I couldn’t find a way to contact him on line — please send this to him if it suits.

To avoid taking up a significant proportion of cyberspace with historical diversions, here are some abrupt, unadorned facts about our Constitution and our sacred, God-given heritage. This heritage was paid for by our ancestors, with their lives in many instances — MAGNA CHARTER, civil war, men and women persecuted relentlessly for their faith; some burned at stakes — oceans of suffering and sacrifice — you name it. It’s more sacred than Anzac. It is arguably the world’s best Constitution. Here is what I take to be a foundational and (to me, initially, startling) fact which clarifies the religious freedom angle.
    1) The Constitution was never intended to be anything but purely christian based, and was enacted by people who, irrespective of their personal foibles and tastes, would have been insulted to have been classified as non-christian. It is a christian administrative rule book and plan — but not a religious manifesto. As such, it guarantees nothing. in terms of religion, except that it will fail, if the wrong religion is applied to it. It will likewise fail if crime becomes all-poweful.
    2) In fact, the founding fathers took it as an unspoken fact that the religion of this country was then and always would be Christian, including christian in the sense of tolerant to all peoples wherever possible WHILST MAINTAINING A VIABLE NATION. And as far as I know they never gave anyone ‘freedom of religion’! They weren’t daft. Everyone has a religion — yes, even atheists. All they did, to keep peace amongst the protestant–catholic friction of those times, so far as I can make out, was to enshrine something called ‘separation of church and state’ The Pope for one wouldn’t be dictating to Parliament. Not directly, anyway. The State wouldn’t be requiring Catholics to attend Church of England religious events, even though the Head of State was also Head of the Church of England. People would not be forced to subscribe to other denominations in terms of personal faith. The State would not permit its organs to become the organs of any one church denomination. End of story.
    3) They never dreamed in their worst constitutional nightmares that anarchists such as the committed core Greens would arise to openly attack industry and marriage. They couldn’t conceive of a nation come to the state of ours, where any man who wishes to obey his conscience and the Word of God, is counted half mad, and even a criminal. The suggestion of Christianity become so lost to the general populace that other religions rush into the vacuum, would have made them laugh. No, the Constitution does not gurantee ‘freedom of religion’! Freedom of religion is a misnomer, a publicity stunt, to cover the stealing from us of that very thing. Everyone has a religion. The constitution was designed for christian administrative ideals, enacted by a society based on biblical law. That produces Western Demoncracy, the only religiously tolerant society that has ever existed on the Planet!

So, RUAP is religiously tolerant in (as I see it) precisely the same spirit and intent as the founding Fathers and the Constitution. And any other approach seems to me to be doomed to failure. But, there’s an opportunity to tangle words and meanings in an interview if ever there was one! g

Hello everyone, It is fabulous news that Rise Up Aust is soon to be a political party. That is great and I endorse all that you stand for however because I was in a dilemna at the last state elections – I couldn’t vote/refused to vote for any of the political parties that contributed by any percentage of votes to the introduction of the barbarous ‘abortion law reform’ ie. the National, Liberal, Green and ALP parties – I joined and sttod as a candidate for the only elected party that stood 100% against the law ‘reform’, the DLP and voted for myself.

Because I am currently a member of the DLP I cannot join and support you in this manner at this time. I pray you will have no trouble gaining 500 members to become an official political party. I look forward to reading of your rise in politics. God Bless You.

    Love Sandy.

    Count me in,

Love it – bring it on. It’s certainly time to get real and do what Paul commanded us to do. Confront evil clad with the gospel of peace as our foundation.
