Dear friends and family in Christ,

Following is an email from Salt Shakers with links to a Christian Values Checklist for the upcoming Federal Election on 21st August. Keep praying for righteousness to exalt Australia for Jesus!

Christian Values Checklist

The Australian Christian Values Checklist for the upcoming federal election has just been released! The Checklist compares the policies of the major political parties across a range of moral and ethical questions. Salt Shakers works with a number of other Christian organisations to prepare this document.

The Checklist is published by the Australian Christian Values Institute.  http://www.christianvalues.org.au/

They will soon be available on their website – click here. http://www.christianvalues.org.au/check_list.html

Make sure you read it before voting!

A full colour version and a Black and White version (for copying) are both attached – they’re also available on our website at these links:

Australian Christian Values Checklist – 21 August 2010 Federal Election – B & W high res (127 KB)

Please distribute it widely to your churches and friends!

When photocopying/printing, please add the name of the printer of the Checklist.

We’ve also posted the Australian Christian Values Checklist on our special Election 2010 webpage – click here and on the front page of our website.  http://www.saltshakers.org.au/

How does the Institute decide on the responses?

The responses and material are taken from Party policy statements, public statements, media reports etc. In some cases the voting record of the parties over the past few years has also been considered.

Supporting Statements

We’ve prepared an 8 page document with the actual policy statements and other material. It also addresses the question we sometimes get about the sort of issues addressed by the Checklist – and why we don’t address what might are sometimes called ‘social justice’ issues.

Joolia Dillard is an ATHEIST PRO-ABORTIONIST.

SHE QUESTIONED HELP FOR PARENTS AND PENSIONERS.

AN ATHEIST DENIES GOD,THEREFORE CANNOT FEEL FOR GODS CREATION- HUMANS.

CHRISTIANS UNITE AND VOTE AGAINST THE ATHEIST!

I am sad to hear that our Prime minister is all these things but I believe we as Christians should still repect our leaders and show them our love. Please sister pray for and love our Leader who is in at the moment because all leadership is from God if we don’t love and repect her regardless of her beliefs she will never want to become a Christian. Remember it is God’s kindness that leads us to repentane. This dosen’t mean we should vote for her, vote for those who support Christian values and love those who don’t.

    Dear friends

One. One of the most important decisions a Christian can make this month concerns the federal election. I have tried to lay out some principles here to help us in this process: http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2010/08/03/thinking-about-the-2010-election/

Two. Julia and the Secular Party of Australia should get along quite nicely with each other: http://www.billmuehlenberg.com/2010/08/02/the-politics-of-unbelief/

Three. We should not seek to make saints out of sleazeballs: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/opinion/depicting-smut-as-free-speech-is-greatest-offence/story-e6frezz0-1225900207182

Four. I seem to have something in common with an English actress: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/women-cant-have-it-all-actor/story-e6frf7l6-1225900795251

    To Ps Danny Nalliah,

In typicial Australian ” Good on yer mate”

The day Miss Gillard became PM I received the following.

” Miss Gillard will loose here seat at the next election and the power brokers who supported her will ‘suffer’ ”

    and about a week later.

    “Prime Minister Tony Abbot”

    May God Bless you

    Ivan

Hi, I know you’ve mentioned re the coming elections your support for Tony Abbot over Julia Guilard, but just wandering about
Christians voting for the Christian Democratic Party & what you are feeling about that….. Many Christians say it is not worth losing the vote, since only 2 parties have any chance of getting in, I was wondering what were your thoughts on that?

Can’t God still do miracles if His people are faithful in prayer & action anyway.

Please let me know your thouughts

    Thanks Annette
