Pastor Danny Nalliah released the following statement to clarify his position on connecting the Victorian bushfires with the state’s abortion laws, following a deluge of calls and emails to his office in the wake of his earlier public statement.

It’s been a busy week with offering practical assistance through Catch the Fire Ministries (CTFM) and attempting to respond to many calls on those wanting understanding on his having drawn an alliance between the bushfires and Victoria’s abortion laws.

Further to our previous media release dated 10th February 2009, and the varying responses we have received from thousands of people across the nation and around the world, CTFM would like to thank all who took the time to respond. As it is practically impossible to respond to each email, we’re releasing the following follow up media release.

He said, “I love my nation of Australia with all my heart and would give my life to protect its sons and daughters. This love that I have for our nation, every man, woman, and child, led me to release the previous media release as the truth must be spoken out at all cost.  Ezekiel Chapter 33:7 states, “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from Me.”  In John 8:31-32 Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

Pastor Nalliah, who has been on the ground delivering material aid to assist in the relief operations to bushfire affected areas, said he was very sad that many seemed offended and have taken what he had said out of context, simply believing the media reports, rather than reading the original statement which is on our website.  He said his love for the nation of Australia is what drove him to make those strong statements, written in the Bible, and that he did not want any further disasters to come upon our nation.

On Thursday 12th February, Pastor Danny was driving a truck with others from the CTFM team, delivering our first load of relief aid to Diamond Creek for the bush fire affected areas, where he came face to face with some victims who had lost everything.

”I was speechless as they described what had happened to them. In particular, I was so moved in my heart to provide financial assistance on the spot to a man named Jeff, in addition to counseling and praying for him, his wife, and two children.  He was in tears and so was I.”

”I wish to take this opportunity to thank the many Christians and non-Christians alike who responded to our bush fire appeal within 24 hours. Your generosity and loving kindness has certainly put a smile on the face of many.”

”My heart’s desire is that, as Bible-believing God-fearing Christians repent to the Lord and pray during these seven days, God’s protection would be restored to our state of Victoria and nation of Australia, and that there would be no further disasters.”

Catch The Fire Ministries has sent out a call for Christians to participate in a seven day fasting and prayer campaign which culminates at a united prayer meeting tomorrow Wednesday 18 February, 12pm to 2pm beside Captain Cook’s Cottage in Fitzroy Gardens in the City of Melbourne to “humble ourselves on our knees and cry unto God through repentance, mourning, and prayer as in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14, to see an end to the bush fires”.

I have to tell you that I admire Pastor Nalliah for sticking to the truth. Sadly, the ministers in my country, took back their similar words of warning, after we suffered the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Actions have consequences. The people of Victoria chose to take their legal protection away from innocent babies; against the law and ethics the Lord so clearly wrote in his Word. ….so why wouldn’t God have the right to remove His protection from those same people? The people of Victoria are God’s babies. He simply applied the same standard of care on his children, as the people of Victoria applied to their babies. The Bible clearly says that with the same measure that you give, so you will receive. They have sown death, and now they reap it.

No, there is no comfort in these words. But, there is comfort in the knowledge that God wants to bless the people of Victoria. He died for them. He is a God of resurrection, and renewal! He can and will make all things new again.

    The Bible tells us:

Hebrews 12:6 (New King James Version)
For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives

Proverbs 3:10-12 (New King James Version)
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine.
11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
    Nor detest His correction;
12 For whom the LORD loves He corrects,
Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

God Bless you, and remain strong!

Hi Ps Danny, Jason and CTFM team,

Thank you again for courageously speaking the Word of the Lord.

I have had some people with negative feedback on your comments but I for one agree that we as a nation need to humbly call out to the Lord, repent, turn from our wicked ways and pray. This land needs healing and when we are willing to do His will rather than have our own way then I believe God will pour out His Spirit upon this dry parched land.

His Kingdom come His will be done on Earth as it is in heaven!
    Be encouraged, Lynn

I was traveling across Vic in my truck yesterday and was encouraged by an interview on the radio and then what I saw in the Herald Sun when I stopped to pick up some parts.

ABC radio was interviewing a man asking what part God played in the fires (punishment/judgment).He emphasized God is a God of love. They then talked about the importance of the spiritual in counseling the victims.

In my brief look at the paper two images stood out. (1) Kevin Rudd head bowed in prayer for the victims (2)A page of the bible that survived the fire.

The news was also talking about the Royal Commission into the fires. The terms of reference are very broad and encouraging anyone in the community to have input. I am wondering if God is opening up an opportunity for people of God the bring His case before the commission and the nation.

May God continue to guide and bless you and this nation. John

Not for one minute did I believe Danny’s comments were off. But there were many who left messages on your web site that were off. The media thought Danny were off and manipulated his comments.

  6. 6 Michael

Thank you for your demonstration of uncompromising love.

Yes, having just seen the original message that God had withdrawn His protection from us, it is quite different from what the media reported.

Have heard a bunch of others also agreeing.

God bless, from one of a huge number of bible believing Catholics.

I wasn’t altogether sure of the timing of Danny’s comments but I am sure of one thing – he is a man who loves God with all his heart and who loves Australia and its people. It takes men of godly courage like Danny Nalliah to change nations. Danny I am praying for you. May God bless and strengthen you and your family as you honour him.

God bless you Pastor Danny and the team. It is indeed a weird age that we live in, that we think it is love to set-up a “safe” injecting room where people can “safely” inject a deadly substance into their bodies. Sort of like setting-up a safe place where people can drink alcohol to their heart’s content, and then be safely driven home and tucked into bed. Wouldn’t love want to help the poor person with their addiction? In Scouts, my son (and I) learned the great wisdom of their emphasis on “prevention being better than cure”.

With the bushfires, love must always seek to prevent such disasters. To warn people that we must repent is love in action, if it prevents such horrible occurrences. All this talk of tactlessness, and poor timing etc etc is just so much hot air. Australians must be warned: Father God is not pleased with much of what we do in this nation, and unless we repent, then more of these disastrous consequences will occur. The upset climate and salinity are to me obvious signs of His displeasure, as is the economic meltdown.

So, be tactless, be blunt, but whatever you do get the message out – that we MUST change, or worse will come upon us.

God bless you O good warrior of the Truth.

    Dear Pastor Danny,

I want to encourage you and honor you for your bravery. No liked the prophet Jeremiah either. I think 80-90% of what is called prophecy today is a lot of puff and sometimes manipulation. Where are the true prophets? I don’t know anything about you so ofcourse I can’t say I fully support everything you say, but I’ve been hearing about the flak you have been getting and I don’t agree with it. God bless you and you keep going. I am a missionary and have been here for a few months and I’m fully planning on going back in April or May. I’ve lived in America for a while before I went to the country where I know live (can’t say over email) I don’t know if you heard of Lou Engle they are seeing major revival all across america because they totally take this verse seriously If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray…….

I lived in Kansas City for one year and they are not shy to carry the sins of their nation they have been repenting for the sin of abortion in America over a long term period and they are praying that it is made illegal again. They have seen headlines change because of their prayers and they have seen revival in their land.

I hope you get this email. I’m sad that I think you would not get so many like this but more of the other. Your going to see revival.

God bless you and your family and your church,
    Margo

Thank you Danny for bringing this word at a time of great grief and mourning. I honour you. I stand with you and your supporters and have fasted and prayed since last Wednesday as was the call. As I live interstate I will be unable to attend the gathering tomorrow in Melbourne, but am with you in spirit.

I thank GOD for you as an obedient disciple , speaking out the TRUTH as given to us by the LORD GOD intended for all mankind.
GOD truly wants for us ; not to perish but have eternal life. We all need to abide by his teachings, thus proclaiming the TRUTH.
I found your message very appropriate and timely for our great nation. I only hope that the people whom are in a position of
Trust responsible for decision making will pay attention and repent before it is too late.
I stand with you when saying you speak with love and concern, but strongly condemn abortion as a criminal act.
I pray that Godly people throughout this nation,” CATCH THE FIRE” and unite in prayer seeking protection/salvation for our
Beloved nation and ask forgiveness so that our LORD GOD will once again cover us with His Mantle.

    My Letter to the Editor:

    Dear Sir,
Barney Zwartz said in his article “failing to understand the nature of an understanding God” (12/02/09) the role of religion at a time like this is “not explanation” but consolation. Yes, and there is a third role – remedy.

The remedy Danny Nalliah pointed to in 2 Chronicles 7:13, 14 is the promise of our almighty, holy and merciful God to Kind Solomon: “if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Does Barney think this has no application to us?

He mentioned the incident in Luke 13:5 where Jesus said the people killed by a tower were not “worse sinners”, but left out the warning Jesus added, “Unless you repent you too will perish.” Do Jesus’ words not apply to us too? Shouldn’t we, like the prophet Daniel in the Old Testament (Dan. 9:4) be praying in repentance for the evils we in our state are allowing to continue – a host of evils quite apart from the Abortion law?

So why interpret Danny Nalliah’s statement to mean anything but a call to prayer and repentance – and an urgent one at that? When would be the most appropriate time?

    Yours Faithfully

    Dear Danny,

thank you for your faithfulness to the heart of God. Even as someone who is deeply steeped in the theology of the judgements of God, I still struggle with the whole issue of judgement. But that reflects upon my lack of holiness and my lack of the eternal perspective; not His. Oh how humanistic we are!

I realize you have paid a real price for your faithfulness regarding correctly linking the fires with God’s judgement against wicked state laws. And in fact, you put it out indeed, as a warning!

Even the likes of Arafat have been Israel’s whipping boy for their terrible record some years ago, of having the highest rate of abortion (per capita) in the world|. Girls were being lured to join the IDF with the offer of “your first two abortions will be free.”

I realize you have a great heart of compassion for all those who have suffered. And how can we explain some fine Christians perishing in the flames? We can’t….Rom.11:33 But we cry “dear Father, ‘in wrath remember mercy’ ” . May these fires yet prove to have kept many from the eternal flames that never die.

One just has to bear these things dear Danny, though many fail to understand……

Have another look at the chapter on judgement in ‘Apostolic Foundations’ by Art Katz, and be encouraged.

For too long the church has been men pleasers. Programs are geared to bring them into the church without the conviction of sin and our need for a Saviour and to make Jesus our Lord. When a word like this come from a prophet of the Lord, we rise up to speak against it and put forward all our theology of God .

To all of us who have shot down Ps Danny, let us be honest with ourselves. How many of us have stood consistently in the gap for this nation? How many of us have actually found out what Ps Danny actually said, or when he first shared his dream or have we just heard what the media wrote and have not gone to the original source? How many of us have sought the Lord about this word and hear from God ourselves or have we jumped on the bandwagon? Have we been in contact with Ps Danny or his office to clarify the media reports before shooting him and denouncing him? Some of us even refer to Ps Danny as our personal friend and then spoke against him to our congregation? Is this the way we treat a personal friend?

The kingdom of darkness is jumping up & down in glee. The purpose of sharing his dream was to call the churches to unite together in repentance and prayer was lost when we expended our energy to research our theology and write blogs against him.

Ps Danny we are very sorry. Please forgive us. Please for Australia and our future generation, do not give up calling the church out of the world system & to be set apart for God. Thank you to you, your family and the CTF team Thank you for your faithfulness unto the Lord

Dear Danny and family. GOD BLESS YOU for having the courage to speak out and warn the nation. That is a prophet’s purpose, and those who rebuke you are ignorant of true spirituality. And of Biblical teachings!
We pray that you and your family remain protected by GOD, and send you encouragement.

    Hi Danny & Jason,

Danny, as hard as you may try to smooth the troubled waters of misunderstanding & distortion of truth of where you were coming from as a ‘weeping prophet’ (from the unbelievers and certain believers’ point of view), as that dear prophet to our beloved nation of Australia, you are going to inevitably suffer the same fate as the biblical prophets did…..lots of misunderstanding, distortion, rejection, false accusation, fierce opposition and persecution. So, don’t be surprised (as i’m sure you’re not!).

Yes, it probably is important to sandwich the firm Word of the Lord in the bread of softness & love; but i think even if u did, first time, in a really obvious way, many would still have opposed you. Don’t forget you’re dealing with satan, the world, the flesh and the pharisaical elements of churches….all of whom HATE the TRUTH, RIGHTEOUSNESS & HOLINESS….(again, i’m sure no surprises there !).

Be encouraged, brother Danny….the Lord is greatly pleased with your conviction, courage and boldness to stand for Him and His ways. As an Australian (with a Polish background) I truly thank God for you !!! You and your ‘guts’ are a great inspiration to me as a disciple of Christ!

And thank you, Jason, for being such an amazing brother and support to our Precious Prophet, Danny.

    God bless you both richly,

    Elizabeth (Adelaide, SA)

I have read many articles here and on this web site.
And the many comments that come from many ‘God Fearing’ people.
I ask the many – where are you when the drug addicts are injecting? Are you there holding their hands and just letting them rest in the love of God that is within you?
Are you there comforting the women so distraught she is having an’ unwanted baby’, or the young girl so desperate because she has ‘God Fearing’ parents that tell her she will die in hell for her sins of unmarried sex or fornication? The only way out she can see is to end the baby’s life.

I saw an article here critical of the memorial service.
What more would you have done for those bereaved people?
Would you have had a Christian service only open to the public for Christians? What would you have done with the Muslims, the Hindu’s and all other faiths? Would you have welcomed them into your church?
More importantly what would Jesus, our Lord & Saviour have done?
Are we so afraid to entertain alongside other faiths? Is our God not an all loving God and is He Supreme or not?

We seem to be finding many ways to inflict selective parts of scripture on community but ignore some of the more interesting and powerful parts of the Good News.
It also says we are to heal the sick, raise the dead. Where are the modern day lepers? Would we sit with them and listen to their stories and heartaches? And perhaps lead them out of the places of despair and hopelessness.
If Jesus calmed the storm (literally) why don’t we? He said we would do greater things and because He was going to the Father He would send us a Helper.

There is much work to be done and calamities come and yet we are quick to judge and quick to condemn.
Sure the world is full of sin, its been that way for a long long time.
But its also a place of Hope and Love and we can make the difference.
Are we so sure of our own state that we can look those we condemn and say we are without sin?
Who would throw the first stone?

When we wake each morning let us just give thanks that we have a new morning, a new start and see where and what our great God can do when we walk the road with Him.

I am saddened by the bushfires, the floods and the grief. But I am more saddened by some of the comments I find on this site.

    regards
    Richard

I live in the bushfire affected area and I have to agree with Pastor Danny regarding the fires. The church was complacent regarding the abortion laws. Maybe they didn’t want to be seen not being politically correct. There weren’t many Christians that came to protest outside of the parliment house. I was very disappointed as very few leaders even spoke to their congregation about the issue. Imagine if every church in Victoria had even a small representation from their church attend, you would not be able to get into the city. People would really have had to take notice. But it wasn’t that way. I hope and pray in future we can make a stand together against unrighteousness and for Godliness in this country as one body.

I had a vision in 2001 and then again in 2003 of a massive bushfire coming over the hills behind my house. We knew which direction it would come from and what we would do. The Lord spoke clearly to me about the fires and the coming regeneration of the nation. My husband, who is a musician, was given a song and music from the Lord regarding it which we have been singing since 2003 called ‘Regeneration’. The Lord told me at that time that when the fire comes to these mountains in the natural that they would be laid to waste. They would look desolute. But that the seed in the ground would be cracked open and the sun and the rain would fall on the seed. These seeds spring forth and grow much thicker and healther trees with many things growing that we haven’t seen for a long time. The Lord then told me that as it is in the natural so it will be in the spiritual.

This is what I wrote: One night at the end of August 2001 I had a vision of a bushfire. Then in March of 2003 I started seeing it again. I saw trees blazing not being consumed. No smoke but burning bright, the grass lush and untouched, no ash or smoke, the sky clear and bright. There were a few trees in front then they got thicker and thicker until that was all I could see an endless mass of blazing trees. This time there was a fence, there were fenceposts out in front five of them. There was one post more to the front and on the corner then two on either side. These fence posts were also ablaze and were strung with three strands of wire, The Lord told me, ‘These fence posts are the five fold ministry, this is necessary to keep order, direction and boundaries for the army that follows; The wire that holds them together is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are to lead and fence in my people’. I was uncomfortable about the fence. The Lord told me, ‘A fence is necessary as it offers protection and safety. First a few then more and more, a mighty army, deep rooted and righteous’. The Lord told me, ‘The trees are My soldiers blazing with My Holy Fire. When My army of saints advances then also does My army of angels. You all battle together under the command of the Lord of Lords. You are all my servants serving My purpose’. Then I saw sparks coming off the fiery trees and setting the neighbouring trees on fire, these trees in turn began sparking and setting more on fire. Then I noticed some trees were burning up. I looked even more closely. These trees were dry, they were dead wood. Once they were growing strongly now they were dried up and were being consumed utterly by the fire. They looked like the others and I didn’t know which were going to be consumed by looking at them. The Lord said to me, ‘These are the ones that were once growing and strong then they stopped drawing on me and My fresh Living Water. They became self sufficient and stated to draw on natural water. That changed their nature, their very essence, to perishable rather than imperishable. When My Fire comes the perishable, the things of the natural, the things of the world cannot stand. Only the things of My Spirit, those things nourished by the Living Water from My Throne are everlasting. You can be sure that this day is coming, My word is true, I do not lie, those that are playing, those that are comfortable, those that are prideful will be utterly consumed. Be certain that you are true, that you are drawing from me as this day is coming when My Fire will ignite My Church and those that are proud, those that aren’t true and the unrighteous shall burn up utterly. But those that are drawing from My Living Water, those that are deep rooted and alive in Me, they shall blaze, they shall ignite those around them just by their very presence. Know this that when you pray, when you advance My army of angels goes before you, goes beside you, goes with you. Don’t look at your number, open your eyes and look at mine. Don’t think but we are a few for those that are with you are many. Trust Me, draw from Me, burn for Me’.

    Dear Jason
Over in the west hardly anyone church knew about the abortion laws in vic and hardly knew about Danny Nahlia court case only a few the information wasn’t getting around.
There is a block in the information getting to the Pastors and ordinary church goers we only knew because of Australian prayer network and Danny site.
we will try and do our bit. The important information isn’t getting through very well. So it might be the same in victoria.
    God Bless Donna.
