What do you do in case you are attacked? Every Christian I know of, if they are truly following Christ and doing what Jesus commanded us to do in Mark 16:15 and Acts 1:8 in taking the good news to the entire world will be attacked. The sad thing is the majority of the attacks will come from religious people claiming to be Christians. These religious zealots believe that God has given them the job of destroying anyone that does not live up to the standards they have set personally for other Christians to live up to. There is a name for punks like these and it is called “Pharisees.” Jesus dealt with them when He walked the earth. He called them snakes and vipers. They are the ones that put Jesus to death on the cross. Therefore, never listen to a modern day Pharisees because they are not saved and are not Christians. They are just big mouthed people trying to make a name for themselves as my friend Dina Dixson in Texas says about them. Ok so what do you do when the Pharisee’s attack? I am thinking of Janet Paschal’s song:

I go to the Rock of my Salvation
I go to the Stone that the builders rejected
I run to the mountain and the mountain stands by me
When the earth all around me is sinking sand
On Christ, the solid rock I stand
When I need a shelter, When I need a friend,
I go to the Rock

Where do I hide
When the storms of life are threatening
Where do I run to
When the winds of sorrow blow
Is there a refuge in the time of tribulation
Cause I go to the Rock
I know He’s able.

This will work for you IF you have the faith to believe it will. “Have faith in God! Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them” (Mark 11:22, 24). We all need to make a determination to believe God at His word and stop all doubt and unbelief in our hearts and in our minds. As a minister of the gospel who has been preaching God’s word for almost twenty years now I have to confess to you that I still struggle in that area. I get bogged down sometimes with other things that end up being a distraction. That is why I need to fill my tank up with God’s word, with prayer, and with fellowship with God. We are like a car. We can’t continue to drive our automobiles if we don’t keep them maintained and filled up with gas and oil. That is why prayer and the study of God’s word is needed in our lives otherwise we will be trying to run on empty and eventually the car stalls out.

I believe I am just as qualified as any other minister on earth to dole out advice on what to do in case you are attacked because believe me baby, I have been attacked more than most because of being a public figure who no one wanted to see succeed in any capacity. I have practically been in public eye all of my life.  Most people hated me when I was leader of the Klan so a lot of people were glad that I quit the Klan but they feel I should have disappeared from the public and hung my head in shame begging for forgiveness for the rest of my life. It angers them that not only did I repent and turn my life around, but that I am now seen as a somewhat influential public speaker who people want to hear from across the world, which is obvious by the size of the crowds where I speak and the amount of people who get saved from my testimony. The Pharisees spend almost all of their time obsessed with me and working around the clock to try and stop me. You see, I refuse to play the game of the Pharisees. I sometimes only acknowledge them when I send them a note saying “Thanks for making me the center of your world!”

I realize I made mistakes in the past and there is nothing I can do about that because you can never go back in time and change the past. However, I determined a long time ago that I could do something about today to build a better tomorrow for the future of our children.  I realized I could perhaps keep a few of them from making the same mistakes in life that I made so I dedicated my life to doing just that. Ever since I did, the religious people went to work. They have dogged me and attacked me for years. They spread false rumors and ring up others encouraging them to help shut me down by joining in their attacks. They have even attacked my wife who is not even a public figure! What’s next, my dog Misty? How about my neighbors? How about my brother or even my dead grandmother? Vicious lies, gossip and slander have all been weapons they have used against me.

Let me tell you something sugar, without faith, I would have thrown in the towel a long time ago.  I chose however, to believe God at His word. Isaiah 54:17 says “No weapon formed against you will prosper and every tongue that rises against you God will condemn.” Remember God’s word says WILL condemn not might condemn. Also, God’s word does not say weapons will not be formed against you, it says the opposite. Weapons will be formed against you, but they will not prosper IF you believe!  When people attack you, you need to stand on the rock of your salvation and believe God at His word. Evidence of that is removing doubt and negative words from your vocabulary. I admit that it is hard to do and I still struggle in that area but I am getting better at it! Guard your mouth. Control your words. Don’t say things like “They are destroying me” or “I can’t go on.” Listen baby, Philippians 4:13 says ‘You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.” Notice it says “You can” and not “You can’t.”

“We believe; therefore, we speak.” (2 Corinthians 4:13) What this means is, confess it with your mouth out loud. When we confess words of doubt and unbelief we stop God’s words from working in our lives. When we speak words of belief and faith, then we put the words of God to work in our lives. Besides, when we speak words of doubt we discourage others from believing God’s words will work for them. You don’t want to be a stumbling block do you? New believers sometimes base their Christian walk on what they see in others. We need to remember that. We also need to determine to be the best example we can be so others will be strong in the Lord and have faith in the power of His might.

I wrote in my bible words that were given to me years ago from a man I attended church with at Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma named Miles Henry. I want to give them to you. Miles said, “The bigger the attack, the bigger the breakthrough.”  I will add to it, “The bigger the doubt and negative confession, the bigger the breakdown.” Breakthrough or breakdown? It’s up to you! As for me and my house, in case of attack: BREAKTHROUGH!

Nice to hear of Johnny kowing that he stands up for his Lord and Saviour and influences others by his testimony, his changed life and the way he now lives; according to Bible princpiles. There is victory in Jesus for all those who put their trust in Him.
