Olympic Games 2008“When I’m following Christ closely, there’s a contentment and satisfaction in my life that is far greater and longer-enduring than any good race I’ve ever run.”

(Beijing, China)—The Christian Post reports some of the world’s top athletes are letting it be known that their top priority, above winning a medal at the Olympics this year, is their relationship with Jesus Christ.

One example given is Olympic marathon runner Ryan Hall who said, “When I’m following Christ closely, there’s a contentment and satisfaction in my life that is far greater and longer-enduring than any good race I’ve ever run.”

The ministry “Open Doors” is reportedly calling on churches and Christians back home to host prayer events during the Games for the persecuted Christians in the country. Said Open Doors USA President Carl Moeller, “Unfortunately, there has been a crackdown on house church leaders in wake of the start of the Olympics. Please join me in praying for all those in prison.”
